Guisi Lighthouse

Although July is low season in Guimaras and Philippines for tourism, I was fortunate to visit these 1857 lighthouse ruins on a picture perfect day when the seas were fairly calm and turquoise, mand the white sand Kanyama Beach looked stunning. One can easily walk around the ruins. I saw one Caucasian foreigner and about 20 Filipinos visjting while I was there for half an hour on a Friday at 1145. The vendors were not pushy and sold interesting local products such as locally flavoured pretzels. Sandy - male - had excellent English. The path up from where trikes park is not lengthy but PWDs may need a helping hand. The environmental fee is P10, payable where the road leads off. It is 15 minutes or 5.174 kilometres from the main road to the Lighthouse. Swimming at the beach has a P30 entrance fee. There are tables and bench seats under coconut palms. Beach lacks rubbish (trash) which is great. Expect some crowding on weekends February to May during high season.

The place is still not crowded. We had the entire beach all to ourselves for the entire 2 days. The road going to the beach is much better now. glad they have tried to cement the roads all the way. Still a wonderful getaway if you want to relax and enjoy solidarity.
