Gorontalo (Hulontalo) is an Indonesian province on the island of Sulawesi. It was created on December 5th, 2000. Historically, it has been a center for the spread of Islam in Eastern Indonesia. Gorontalo is mainly inhabited by several groups consisting of various Pohala'a (Family), among them Pohala'a Gorontalo (Ethnic Hulontalo), Pohala'a Suwawa (Ethnic Suwawa/Tuwawa), Pohala'a Limboto (Ethnic Limutu). Pohala'a Bolango (Ethnic Bulango/Bolango) and Pohala'a Atinggola (Ethnic Atinggola) are also categorized into Gorontalo tribes (also known as Hulontalo, Gorontalese or Gorontaloan). It is believed that the spread of Gorontalese diaspora has reached five times the current population in Gorontalo and are now scattered throughout Indonesia and other countries .

We visited the Hungayono Forest of the Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park Gorontalo with friends to observe the endemic animal life there. In the Hungayono forest we observed maleo bird, Sulawesi black monkey (Macaca Nigrescens) and also Tarsius Spectrum Gursky. For hungayono forest exploration, we did it with a very experienced guide, especially in the fields of wildlife and birdwatching, namely Ardhy. He is very experienced in arranging trip especially about the forest in Gorontalo like Hungayono Forest. We found him in internet when we looked about the tour guide sulawesi. Enjoying the Hungayono forest great when you do it for two or three days. In the middle of the forest Ardhy arranged for us to live in a maleo conservation area or shelter. We stay Three days and two nights there. Even at night we do activities such as observing snakes. If you go to Sulawesi and Gorontalo, Hungayono Forest is the best place for those of you who like wildlife.

Number one tourist attraction in gorontalo, You have to visit this place when in Gorontalo. The only place in indonesia where you can see and feed the whaleshark very close. And its only about 20-30 meters from the shore. Using local wodden boat, they will “call” the whaleshark by knocking their wooden boat. And “they” will amazingly appear to show their “big mouth” asking you to feed them. An extraordinary experience, and its also very affordable! You just cant miss it when you are in Gorontalo.
