What a truly pleasurable experience landing at the Hoist House. This is my first time to Goldfield and I have had such a good time here today it will not be my last. Open road tripping for the past two and half weeks, camping in my van, taking lots of back roads, sticking my nose into old abandoned farm houses, braving the barn owls, doing photography, and that last stretch of 60 mile dirt road popped me out just maybe 3 miles from here. What a blessing! Some of the truly kindest people live in this town. The fried Codfish, the Fried shrimp and the French fries we're all absolutely top notch. Carolyn the server is a true beauty of a soul, the owner Jana equally so- we talked for about an hour! The people I met were all cool and open hearted, the town is cool in that shabby chic sort of way, I couldn't be happier having been well fed, a couple of enjoyable cocktails, and now tucked in Santa Fe hotel. Really enjoyed doing some sunset photography here in town. Very atmospheric place, this Goldfield.

Definetely a place to stop or stay during the Californian round trip. Great stories, nice buildings, a wonderful bar, and a great host.

Take a slightly off-road drive through this one of a kind car museum. Beautiful natural scenery set with these vehicles. And free! But you can leave a donation for this great project.
