Had a most enjoyable lunch in the Cafe, watched a movie about the coal mine and went underground. Tour guide full of good stories but also very knowledgeable about the workings of the mine. Highly recommended lunch and tour.Well said Anne, Thanks for your rating and support. For those Reading this comment on a 40 deg day when you go underground its average temperature is 17 deg, how nice is that.

Us 2 74 year olds walked to the lighthouse 19klms each way, stopping at Banks Cottage at the light station, for 2 nights, it was wonderful. We met a couple walking back when we were going there and they said the only disappointment was that they only stopped one night. Could not agree more. Banks cottage is well equipped and the view could not be beaten, the cost seems expensive but when you are there you realise why the cost is what it is.

We visited as part of a longer walk - starting at Picnic Bay, then Squeaky Beach and Norman's Beach and back the way we came. The weather was very wet when we reached Tidal Beach and so we sheltered with a coffee. On the walk back there was plenty of bird life including colourful Rosellas, and also swamp wallabies. Back at Squeaky Beach it was dry enough for a picnic amongst the rocks and a paddle in the sea. We saved the swimming for Picnic Bay, but only as that was the end of the walk. A most enjoyable walk punctuated by great Beaches. Squeaky Beach was our favourite. We allowed ourselves five hours and this gave us time to enjoy the Beaches. Not too strenuous but up and down in places. Views well worth it.

An authentic underground Gold Mine that is heritage listed. Tour groups of up to 30 people are escorted by an experienced guide. The Mine is well it, plenty of room and well ventilated. It is very safe. Tours operate daily except Christmas Day at 1:30pm - and at 12noon and 3pm on weekends, public holidays and school holidays.

Took out Grandchildren to visit Walhalla. Kimberly (without and E), was our guide. She had so much knowledge of the mine and Walhalla itself. Kimberly made it a fun experience too. We even had a lovely little dog on the tour with us. So dog friendly too. Would certainly recommend a visit here.

This is an Amazing Holiday Destination. No matter wether you are elderly ,a young family or teenager. There is so much to do. Beautiful Lakes system for boating, fishing and sightseeing. Ocean beach for Surfing, swimming or just taking it easy on the sand. Also a huge variety of cafes and restaurants for coffee or fine dining. So many places to travel by car for day trips.

We did the tour in both the caves. It was awesome!! No need to bring your own torch as the caves have lighting system. Interesting and relatively easy to walk in the cave. 17 degrees inside the cave but the humidity is very high (it was in January) so no need to bring extra clothes with you. The lighter the better (no water bottle, jumper, backpack). You just need your camera!

The volunteer staff are great, the train trip itself was wonderful through mountainous terrain and the souvenirs are not the same uninteresting ones usually offered. We loved it!

Free ferry ride from Paynesville to Raymond Island and only takes a few minutes. Loads of wildlife - guaranteed to spot koalas and echindas. Beautiful view over the lake and easy walking trails. There are no food/drink places here, so make sure you come equipped with water etc. Nice place for a picnic.

We decided to take a short trip from Melbourne to check out trestle bridge on recommendation of relatives. Easy to get too down a short dirt road off main road (signposted). Event though it looks steep I saw plenty of young kids manage easily (my 2yo included, but I carried him up). The views from the top are quite lovely and structure is very sound and secure due to being refurbished recently. Walk back the other way down a path through ferns. Or you can take rail trail all the way to noojee heritage centre. TIP: no bins and only two picnic benches. Also gets busy during school holidays.
