We booked the Etna-Tour after having read the comments here on tripadvisor. The tour was just as interesting and impressive as we expected.
Our guides easily managed the group with their professional and multilingual skills. Their knowledge was impressive and no questions were left.
Safety was always priority no. 1.
We can highly recommend this tour.

This place is so fun for children, priceless for the smiles on their faces. The people that work here are super nice especially the woman with curly hair at the ticket counter(I don't know her name). Safety and adventure are the two main reason we as family love this place! Highly recommend for children and adult too!!

Hundred Horse Chestnut

Reviewed By Doug W - London, United Kingdom

Situated just a 100 metres or so from the little cafe that bears it's name and where we had our lunch this remarkably ancient tree is quite an impressive sight.
Located on the slopes of Mount Etna on the Linguaglossa road in Sant'Alfio and only 5 miles from the volcano's crater it is the oldest known chestnut tree in the world and is estimated to be up to 4000 years old.
The tree has suffered storm damage over the centuries and the trunk is split into multiple trunks but at and below ground level I understand that it is one with its root system.
The name of the tree is derived from a legend that a Queen of Aragon and her company of 100 knights on horses were all able to take shelter from a violent thunderstorm beneath its girth.

Jaanta bi Village

"Jaanta bi" now the first and only African village out of a total of 5000 square meters equipped for day and night, meticulous attention to detail. The accommodation features: beach, equipped with over 400 umbrellas, Cabanas, changing rooms and showers, beach volleyball, Baby Parking service, entertainment and live music, cocktail bar, self service / takeaway.

A viable alternative to the hotel's woeful breakfast choice. Friendly staff, good coffee, better granita. Music can be loud, though keeps youngsters busy along with volleyball, pool table, aerobic dancing, etc. Wear footwear - both 'gangplank' to rocky beach and the bar floor have some irregularities!

Set close to the village of Milo, this winery/hotel is beautifully situated at 700 metres above sea. We were well received and were offered 4 wines to taste at no cost. The soil and wines were well explained as well as the region of origin. The superior label may be added for white grapes sourced in Milo. The crisp acidity and destinct minerality of the wines are very expressive of the lava soil. Interesting the top white is aged in French oak, while the top red is aged in chesnut wood. It was the first vineyard at mount Etna and started in 1727. DOC (origen) was only started in 1968. Wines are priced well within the costs of top wineries on Mt. Etna. The only international grapes grown here are Merlot and Chardonnay, the former being made as a red wine with 80% of the grape variety.
