Named one of the 12 best state parks in America.
Fall is a beautiful time of year to visit Franconia Notch State Park. There are hiking trails but you can also see a lot from your car if you have mobility issues. Can be expensive and very crowded.

Set inside an inviting porch-front building, this small family-owned store in "beautiful downtown" Sugar Hill, is renown for its wonderful premium aged cheddar and other cheeses. You'll also find this shop packed with real local maple syrup (of course!) and a variety of local and regional candies, jellies, soups, and much more...even Moxie jelly! Hey, remember Moxie? And the folks behind the counter couldn't be nicer or more helpful.
I defy you to walk out of this store empty-handed!
Now, after you've visited Harman's, drive east to the Sugar Hill Sampler's barn at the crest of the hill, and then down to Polly's Pancake Parlor...

The covered bridge in Littleton NH is a walking only bridge. The location over the Ammonoosuc river is just down river from a series of falls that make a great backdrop for photos. The shoreline is dotted with red maple and a kaleidoscope of color this fall. Saturday their is a Fly Fishing event being held on the river where viewing from the bridge will be epic. Check out Ammonoosuc chapter of TU for details. This spot is amazing any time year and there is a great craft beer place "Schillings" a few steps away. You vill love it.

Located in the heart of The White Mountains, the historic 300 seat Colonial Theatre originally opened in 1915. Today it presents world-class performing artists, independent and world cinema, and quality family entertainment from May-October. The Colonial is listed on the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places.
Super comfy, great people, incredible line up, and every seat a winner. Can't beat it. The outdoor area for drinks is fun to share with others. And then did I mention JANE? She has the humor and vitality to introduce any show from Justin Townes Earl to The Wood Bros..

This 20-foot-wide natural granite abyss is probably one of the largest "potholes" you've ever seen.
I liked that basin. As we were heading to it, we saw a river flowing swiftly.
The basin has a waterfall and its water is green. It's truly a basin in all its beauty!.
Some of the water followed the river.
I enjoyed the beauty of this basin. It is free as well. It's a must see! Wow!

We got there in the afternoon after visiting Flume Gorge. The place was packed but we were able to skip the ticket line because we bought the combo ticket at the Flume Gorge. The ride was good, the view from the top was amazing. But we did not enjoy as much because the place was too crowded. You are sure to find some inconsiderate people at a tourists spot like this. We were packed in the tram, and my kid held on to the edge of the side bar. A lady next to us pushed her off the bar so that she could take 360-degree video from inside the tram. The observation deck was crowded too, and had to wait to get up there. And can't really enjoy and take your time when you know there are more people coming and waiting too (though some don't care and take as much as time they want). The loop path was short and easy walk. It is a narrow path for most parts, but it's not one way and people are walking from both directions. Then many are so concerned about taking the perfect selfie, they just don't seem to see other people around. My main concern was to keep my kid from getting pushed off by those people, so we really could not enjoy the beautiful view and the scenic path.

Welp, the museum in the back is pretty interesting. Lots of old historical items and fun facts about NH. Touristy items available for purchase, as well as some unusual local made made stuff. When visiting in my childhood, I remember lots of goodies around to sample. ("Sugar Hill Sampler") but now there is only communion cups of "friendship tea" around to sample. Also, the women who work there are the same seasoned women I remember from my childhood who have seemed to grow cold and complacent. No smile, no greeting, just annoyed vibes that you dared to come into their store. People have days but this makes the 3rd unpleasant visit. I hope they'll retire soon and enjoy life

The Gallery at WREN is a venue for emerging and established artists. Monthly shows presents individual and group shows. Open daily 10am-5pm.
Although we didn't buy anything this visit, we always love to visit this store and look at the beautiful works of art (jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, etc.) We've bought several items of jewelry here in the past.

Steeped in more than 100 years of tradition, the AMC's network of mountain huts provides a unique backcountry adventure for novice and experienced hikers alike. Each a day's hike apart along the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire's White Mountains, AMC Huts offer mountain hospitality in spectacular locations above treeline or near mountain lakes or waterfalls.
We went here to obtain information on Tuckerman’s Ravine and Kancamagus Highway.
We spoke with a gentleman named Jeff Gillianson(? sp). He was a fount of very useful information and we based our 2nd day of hiking on his recommendations. His advice was knowledgeable and excellent.
There was all kinds of useful information and history to be found at Pinkham Notch.

An 800-foot gorge that extends from the base of Mount Liberty. It is open from May 8 - October 25.
The welcome Center had lots of historical content and it was good for us to know.Once we left this building, we saw amazing attractions.
This was our highlight of Franconia. This is an amazing adventure. We saw some great rocks. Unmovable!
We were walking in the forest. We saw two beautiful covered bridges. The last one had great views. Wow!
Once we were in the flume, we were mesmerized by its beauty. The further we went, the more beautiful it became.
They had paths near the river and waterfalls and wooden stairs. There were so many waterfalls. Everyone in our vicinity were walking quite slow, so that they could take some nice pictures, which wasn't be difficult.
We stayed here for 3 hours. It was so beautiful. We even enjoyed our walk in the forest.
It's a must see! Enjoy!
