Be sure to check for tour times and schedule your tour beforehand. This is America's largest lager only craft brewery. The beers are excellent. The staff is very friendly. The brewery is just off the I-40/ I-85.

We were lucky enough to attend a function at Elon recently and were able to walk the grounds. The entire university is beautiful with manicured plantings everywhere. It was like stepping into a paradise off the beaten path. This truly is a wonderful college town. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and kind.
The food in the dining halls was excellent. Far above what I've had on other campuses. If you are ever a guest or can attend a function don't hesitate to try dining in one of the student halls if allowed. They have an international hall, one called Collonaides which had a delicious dinner, sandwiches and dessert bar, and they even have quick bite cafe stands around campus.
Thanks for a wonderful weekend to all the Elon staff and students!

We enjoyed several hours here - we walked the two main trails which are well-maintained and litter-free with clear trail markings. It is extremely dry in the Park and the creek was barely flowing. (There are a number of boardwalks and bridges which no doubt are most welcome in wetter conditions.)
We had taken a picnic lunch and enjoyed it sitting in a picnic pavilion overlooking a small pond after our hike.
We also spent time at the Historical Farm. The buildings are in excellent condition and the info boards are very interesting.
We were there on a weekday and the place was very quiet - we only passed one other couple on the trails. However, I should think this is a very popular place at the weekends.

My spouse is a big fan of Dale Chihuly and his amazing glass art. The Alamance Arts Council managed to snag the Stroemple Collection of Venetian. The pieces are magnificent and the small, intimate space just made the pieces pop and allowed us to get closer than we ever had before to Chihuly's work. If you're a fan don't miss this exhibit which closes October 15th.

Went in for lunch and got wonderful service from Ashley. The french fries and fried pickle chips were very good. Lots of seating available ( even with several large groups). The margarita was good and there was a large selection of other drinks available. Parking could be a little difficult. Lots of different school items on display.

After we stumbled across this place a couple of years ago, I knew we would keep returning and we have. They have over 18,000 sq. ft. of anything you could possibly be looking for, including unusual and unique items. They offer complimentary cokes, coffee, and cake as you walk in the door. They also have a "general store" where you can find old fashioned candy, chocolates, homemade goodies, and jar goods. I always get their double dipped chocolate covered peanuts. If you are in the area you really should check this place out. If you are miles away, plan a day trip. You won't be disappointed.

Alamance Battleground is a fascinating site, providing visitors the opportunity to learn about one of the most important events leading up to the Revolutionary War. One of my ancestors was a Regulator, so visiting the site of the Regulators' rebellion held special meaning for me.
Like all state historic sites, there is no charge to visit Alamance Battleground, but donations are much appreciated, and we are always happy to contribute to the upkeep and development of integral historic sites.
We began our visit in the small but very worthwhile Visitor's Center, where a dedicated and knowledgeable docent greeted us and provided us with an overview of the site, as well as a suggested touring plan. We then proceeded in to the theatre to watch the interesting and educational film, which provides the history and context of the historic Regulator Rebellion. I highly recommend watching the film before heading out to the battleground, so that you will understand and appreciate what you are about to see.
After the film, the docent led us outside and pointed out where the various events of the battle occurred. She then took us out to the colonial farmhouse and gave us a tour of the house and grounds. That was very interesting. The house is basically just one room downstairs and one room upstairs, but it is more spacious and comfortably furnished than one might imagine.
After leaving the farmhouse, we headed out to the battleground, starting with the woods and then proceeding to the other side of the road. On the other side of the road is a map outlining the various points where the events of the battle took place. There is some Civil War history here, too. We walked about and looked at the monuments on the field before heading back to the Visitor's Center to make some purchases in the gift shop.
This is a fascinating site, and the importance of the Regulator Movement in American history cannot be emphasized enough. This event impacted not just the colony of North Carolina, but all 13 colonies . . . and it paved the way for the Revolutionary War, which would ultimately lead to American independence.

I have been attending Elon football games for several years now. I usually see one or two games a year. The stadium is very nice. It has bleacher seating with a lot of leg room. The tickets are reasonably priced. Rhodes stadium has a good family atmosphere. You can buy tickets online at the Elon University website.

A wide variety of things from furniture to jewelry, some old, some not. Booths are run by individual vendors so prices are as varied as the goods. Takes a long time just to walk through and see everything. Some booths are displayed nicely and easy to see items, some not. Located in a shopping center with a Food Lion on one end.
