Grand River Kayaking is a friendly place and well managed. Kayaking on the lower Grand in the marshes is easy, safe and interesting. When you are done kayaking cycle out to Port Maitland. A quiet 17 K round trip. Lovely cycling area. Stay in Dunnville at the Riverview Motel and eat at Debbs. This is are is only 90K from our home in hectic Mississauga. What a jewel of an area.

We checked into Chippawa Creek Conservation Campground Friday 29 July 16. Check in was smooth because we had a reservation. Filled out one card with vehicle info. Then we were off to our camp spot which was 517.
The five hundred series is located east side of the campground. No hook ups so it was a dry camp out.
Our fellow campers were settle in as well. The area is very quiet however there were a couple spots that filled in afterwords that were not so quiet!
Load music don't get me wrong here I like load music as well but wow! Not for that long. As evening approached it just got loader. I asked them to turn the volume down and just received a bunch of things I do not want to repeat. Anyway they didn't go to bed till 0300 in which kept everybody up!
The next day I reported this to the office, unfortunately this did nothing to control and or tell these people to quiet down. Saturday night into Sunday went down the same way. Load swearing and music. A couple other campers said to settle down but received the same language I did. The park security seem to do nothing about it.
So a long story short I do not recommend this 500 series spots to any family's that want to get a solid night sleep.
The staff needs to be for all the campers rest and relaxation! And enforce the rules of the conservation area. In my opinion they have not this weekend.

This park is only good to go swimming in the day..and late summer as pool is freezing...as far as camping well think again theft is very bad here. .local people on assistance live here for the summer..I am local and speak the truth..I questioned young men following girls and waiting for them outside the washroom to follow them back to their camp!!!

The light is at the end of a concrete breakwall, the west side of the mouth of the river. The breakwall is solid concrete with lights and benches at regular intervals. It is used by pleasure fishermen. There is an ample sized parking lot at the start of the breakwall. Port-a-potties are available in the lot. A small grassy park is along the river.

Every year we go camping for a week with our daughters and grandchildren. This has always been our park of choice because it's close to Hamilton..During our stay this year we ended up having the people beside us asking us to keep it down, mean while this is 4:30 in the afternoon and we were playing horseshoes and badminton, our grandchildren are 9 ,10,11,12....plus another person asked us if we could be quiet because her baby was sleeping..are you kidding me, people come to the park to have fun not to sit in a quiet campsite.....we go camping every month during the summer because we like the park and it's location.

Don't pass this interesting museum by - it is filled with interesting artifacts, memorabilia, letters from the airmen overseas, and every kind of illustration of what life was like for young men who underwent fighter pilot training at the RCAF #6 Squadron in Dunnville. It would take a few hours to take in all the documents and exhibits contained there. On our visit, we were fortunate to have April as our guide and she provided a superb narrative of the history of the training base and the exhibits. The museum area, excluding the hangars where the aircraft are on display, is not huge but it is packed with all sorts of fascinating artifacts including an operational LINK trainer. It is located in a somewhat rural area, there are loads of parking space and no stairs to climb - perhaps even some excitement on the surrounding tarmac when the filming of "Canada's Worst Driver" is taking place next door. Spend an afternoon and relive the history contained in this interesting museum. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and informative.

We are a family owned farm in beautiful Haldimand county between the Grand River and Lake Erie, just 10 km east of the town of Dunnville, Ontario. We produce maple syrup and grow strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, sweet potatoes for sale at local farmers' markets and directly from our farm. We have a health inspected farm kitchen where we make pies, tarts, cookies, muffins, jam and other preserves from scratch using our own or other locally grown produce. We run sugar bush tours from family day until the beginning of April and a corn maze and other fun farm activities from mid September until the end of October. Our farm store is open year round, with hours that vary with the changing seasons. Pick your own strawberries are available in the month of June, and sometimes early July, depending on the weather.

Muddy the Mudcat is the world's largest mudcat sculture. A mudcat is a type of catfish found in the Grand River. The sculture is located in Centennial Park at the western entrance of Dunnville. It was unveiled November 14, 2009 and took three years to bring to fruition. It is the work of the Dunnville Kinsman Club, the Rotary Club of Dunnville, the Dunnville Lions Club, the Dunnville Lioness Club, and the Dunnville Optimist Club. The giant mudcat is 50 feet long and 27 feet high. Unfortunately, it looks like Muddy has seen better days; the colours on Muddy have faded, the surrounding landscape is in need of care, and some of the sculpture's features (eyes, whiskers, etc,) have suffered damage. What a shame! Dunnville has had ball and hockey teams named after the mudcat. There is also an annual "Mudcat Festival" in Dunnville. On a more positive note, parking around Muddy is free. There is also a nice picnic shelter and some portable toilets in the park. A visit to see Muddy the Mudcat takes less than 20 minutes. Oh, and the sculpture is lit at night.

James knows fishing... if your looking for Walleye or Perch he's your man. He knows the area he knows when the fish move.. he just knows. Both of his boats are VERY well equipped. You don't need rods or bait or tackle he has it all. And it's good stuff.
It's a great day with kids or serious anglers. James is very laid back and easy to talk to. I've gone with him 3 times now and we catch fish!!! The amount of doubles I had when perch fishing was amazing. This time coming back to the dock people gathered around to see how many and the size our Walleye were. They were amazed.
His fishing cleaning skills are also amazing...someone always watches him clean fish with their mouth hanging open. It's a show unto itself. He's fast with a great yield.
As we were leaving to go home my buddy and I started making plans to come back again. It's always a super day. Maybe a salmon run next time.
