Drumheller /drʌmˈhɛlər/ is a town within the Red Deer River valley in the badlands of east-central Alberta, Canada. It is located 110 kilometres (68 mi) northeast of Calgary. The Drumheller portion of the Red Deer River valley, often referred to as Dinosaur Valley, has an approximate width of 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) and an approximate length of 28 kilometres (17 mi).

This was a very interesting little museum. I am not a Star Trek fan, but they have items from several shows and movies. Well worth the drive from Calgary to Drumheller. Awesome place for both children and adults. Amazing education displays. Had a great time exploring the museum. It's busy, so parking can get tricky, but well worth any aggravation trying to find a spot. Take time to explore the outside, by walking up the stairs for a great view of the landscape.

Horseshoe Canyon is an awesome introduction to the Drumheller area. After traveling through the Prairies you just suddenly come to the Canyon and it looks totally different to what you expect! Give it a visit on your way into town!!

I have no idea why this site is not bragged about by Canadians far and wide. I've been to the Grand Canyon and Horsethief Canyon rivals it, in my opinion. I stumbled across this gorgeous spot on my last trip to Alberta and just had to bring the rest of my family here upon this most recent opportunity. Parking is free and plentiful. Site is completely accessible. There is a terrific storyboard onsite for some related history. We took in the views from both sides of the canyon and they are equally breathtaking. Made a little ground squirrel friend while there.

We stopped at the hoodoos and took in the scenery. Great place for photo ops. Also, for the more adventurous, you can climb up the hillside and have a look down upon the hoodoos. It's a bit of challenging climb, but worth the spectacular view. A highlight of our stop in Drumheller.

We enjoyed the free and easy trip across on the ferry. The gentleman on duty was very friendly and informative and gave us some good tourist information. We drove around the other side and saw some interesting places and followed the highway back to Drumheller. Easy and different experience.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, really enjoyed the history and stories they shared. We paid general admission and toured the grounds on our own, there was a lot of interesting things to see. It also included a train tour and it was fun as well.

We enjoyed the story of the church. A truly unique building. We easily parked to the side of the church and went in, appreciated the peaceful tranquility of the church and took some photos and were left in wonderment of it all. A lovely and...MoreThe Little Church has been standing in that area since the early 60's and to be enjoyed by everyone. So glad you found it peaceful. It is a rare hidden gem for our town.
