Shelton Vineyards

Founded in 1999 by Brothers Charlie and Ed Shelton, Shelton Vineyards was envisioned as a new agricultural resource for an area once dependent on tobacco farming. Located in the heart of North Carolina's Yadkin Valley, Shelton Vineyards is 180 degrees from any winery you will find on the West Coast. The distinctive characteristics of Shelton wine come from the unique soil and climate of the Yadkin Valley. This helps give Shelton wine an inimitable taste that holds its own against any wine from any area in the world. We invite you to visit us, try our wine and see if you agree that our wine is as unique as the area we are in.

We have been to other wineries, especially in this area. This was a first time tour of Shelton. Regret we waited this long, guess we saved the best for last. A class above facility. The Hampton is owned by the winery and offers shuttle service....MoreWe are so glad to hear you had such a great time. Hope you come back to visit us again soon!

Of all of the NC wineries we've been to over the last 3 years and thie weekend this was our favorite. Great wines, great live music (harpist and violinist) and over the top hospitality. Joyce and.her husband the tasting room manager made this a truly wonderful experience. Even though they are supposed to close at 5pm on Sunday, we were there until 6 as we're several othets. Even as we were walking to our car, Joyce was walking out with us giving us the history of the winery as a former dairy farm. Excellent wines. Excellent service. A must see!

Stony Knoll Vineyards

Reviewed By Rodhake - Dahlonega, Georgia

We had a very friendly welcome from the owner to the large comfortable tasting room. Van was more than happy to tell us the whole history of his enterprise. When it was evident that we understood what he was talking about, he was happy to provide tastings off the published list including a staggeringly good reserve Chambourcin. The whites, all at very competitive prices, were uniformly good.
We will be back.

Herrera Vineyards

We are a family owned vineyard and winery. We offer wine tastings during all hours of operation and also have a full service restaurant serving lunch Our bar includes wine and beer. We have indoor and outdoor dining including a beautifully landscaped exterior, fire pit and large patio area for relaxing and conversing.

Reviewed By David B - Somerville, United States

After a long day on the winery trail, we decided to eat dinner at Herrera Vineyards. We had a reservation for later in the evening, but we "walked up" and asked if we could be early. No problem....took us right in and seated us. Very accommodating. Not sure they could do this during "season"....but, it does demonstrate their customer service oriented spirit!

Our party of four had a delightful dinner; our server was very attentive and conversational. I would describe this as an up-scale Mexican-style restaurant, but it had a diverse menu. Our food was very well prepared and served promptly! We enjoyed a couple of Herrera's wines with dinner, and they were excellent as well!

After dinner, we walked the patio area, which is simply beautiful. Would be a pleasant place to visit on a weekend and enjoy a bottle of your favorite Herrera wine with your friends!

Now we need to go back and visit the winery.....and have dinner again!

We stopped in here on our vacation in the Yadkin Valley area. The building is beautiful - rich wood everywhere. The couple who own the winery are very nice & interesting. The wines were great! We talked to them for quite a while - it was very interesting learning about the wines and how they have put together their environmentally-friendly vineyard & winery. You can tell that they have a passion for the wines & environment. We enjoyed a Chambourcin-Cynthiana red blend and a Cab Franc they had. This is definitely a place to visit!
