La pedriza es esta en el corazón del parque regional. Esta a menos de una hora de la capital, lo que hace que los fines de semana este siempre lleno de gente. Esta una zona muy especial, combinando bosques con roca, y de entre los animales, hay mucha cabra, y también buitres.
Esta joya, hay que preservarla, para que las siguientes generaciones puedan disfrutar de este pulmón de aire puro al norte de Madrid.

Wasn't expecting to find a castle on our afternoon outing and nearly didn't go in but so glad we did. The castillo is an impressive example of how reconstructions can be done tastefully and without kitsch. Rooms have been simply refurnished with attention to detail. The written information is mostly in Spanish. Views from the battlements to the Mountains and lake are beautiful. If you are in the area it's worth to spend an hour here.

One of the most peaceful and cozy places with an excellent location and view of the town and the river.
Just at the entrance of the town and 20 minutes walking from the main square is a must see place during your stay in here.
Recommended to visit in spring.

Solo abren los domingos por la mañana de 10 a 14:30 horas. No cobran entrada y venden comida para dar de comer a los animales. A nuestro hijo le encantan los animales y darles de comer le emociona especialmente. Una visita muy chula que repetiremos sin duda. Los animales están bien, tienen un terreno bastante grande que entiendo que estarán todos sueltos cuando no hay visitas.
Por el recinto hay cabras, cerdos vietnamitas y algún burro suelto.
Tienen un chiringuito para tomar algo y comer algún bocadillo. Recomiendo ropa cómoda y sobre todo zapatillas porque el terreno por alguna zona es un poco fangoso.

Por cómo voy a describirla pensarán que soy un enamorado de la misma. Es cierto por razones muy personales. Es conocida también como la otra Catedral de Madrid. Es un templo de estilo gótico con un impresionante campanario y un bello retablo mayor renacentista, realizado entre 1563 y 1579, en madera dorada, policromada y estofada Menos el frente que es alabastrino., La Virgen María, está reproducida en la calle central en su Asunción a los cielos, De ahí la advocación del santuario. Se levantó en el siglo XV, bajo el mecenazgo de los Mendoza, señores de Colmenar Viejo y del Real de Manzanares, por Juan Guas, el arquitecto de los Reyes Católicos, que igualmente construyó San Juan de los Reyes en Toledo y la galería del castillo de Manzanares el Real. Convertida en museo de arte sacro, se puede admirar una muestra de pintura y escultura renacentista, así como otras obras de estilos barroco y rococó, libros cantorales, gárgolas y piezas procedentes del propio templo. Se representa el Auto de los reyes Magos hacia el 6 de enero escrito verosímilmente en el siglo XII, siendo una de las obras más antiguas en castellano. Dado que me gusta la heráldica les voy a contar algo sobre la puerta norte y los dos escudos situados a ambos lados de su florón central. Llevan casco cimera y lambrequines; de frente a la izquierda el de la familia Mendoza, correspondiente al tercer Duque del Infantado, D. Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, y a la derecha el perteneciente a su esposa Dª María Alonso de Pimentel, hija de los Condes de Benavente. La heraldica se completa con once colmenas bajo el remate de la moldura que enmarca la portada, tema alusivo al escudo originario de la villa de Colmenar Viejo. Según los cronicones apócrifos el nombre de la villa era El Colmenar del viejo en alusión a la edad del dueño. Les ruego que no se pierdan su visita.

Entramos al SPA un lunes a las 16:30 y muy a nuestro pesar estaba lleno de gente y de niños que convierten lo que es una estancia de relax en un parque acuático.
El SPA es grande pero está muy descuidado y sucio.
El trato de algunos empleados no es el más adecuado, utilizan un tono soberbio y chulesco, cuando se les pregunta o recrimina alguna situación.
En definitiva ni volveré a ir ni lo recomendare.

Компания организовывала здесь гала ужин. Далековато от Мадрида.
Приветственная часть на лужайке, затем на площади около замка. Не смотря на позднее начало- в 20 было все ещё очень жарко.
Замок на возвышенности с площадки открывается красивый вид на окрестности.
Со слов агента, сам замок довольно старый, говорят что строился в 12 веке и перестраивался в 16, после чего и сохранил нынешний вид.
На данный момент замок принадлежит банку, который получил его после банкротства последнего хозяина. Вы можете приобрести его за символичные €5M вместе с обширными охотничьими угодьями. Либо заплатив, просто поохотится на кабанов и оленей)

The parish church was founded in the 14th century under the protection of the first Marques de Santillana. It was rebuilt in the 16th century. The style is a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic. The church has three naves that are separated by arches on columns made of stone. The central nave has the Romanesque style and there is a presbytery in a pentagonal form. There is an arcade on the south side of the church and this was built in the middle of the 16th century and its
style is Renaissance, with little decoration. The church has a high tower.
