A friend suggested a hike on the Glenbow Ranch -- we were pleasantly surprised. It is for day- use only and there is no camping permitted. However there are lots of trails (pave and gravel) on which you may wander. Bikes are allowed; there is the occasional picnic table throughout. You will find lots of maps and interpretive signs to guide you along your way. There is a visitors centre and outhouses. Be careful to follow signs as some area are closed for protection (of the environment and items of historical value). The ranch is situated along the Bow River and offers alot of beautiful scenery.

Great place to spend an hour or two walking the paths up and around the spring and Waterfalls. The lower levels are easy to walk, it does get steep in some places higher up the hills. There are some benches around the walk to sit on if needed. Basic amenities at the car park. A hidden gem just North of Calgary and West of Airdrie.

Just got back from our 2 hour ride and enjoyed every minute. Everything is well organized and professional. Bonnie gave informative pre ride instructions, and Rob was an excellent guide. We are experienced ATV riders and the trails gave us enough challenges to make it fun. Great views too. Thanks for an awesome day!

This Sunday, we went to Cochrane and just out of downtown we went up the hill to Ranche Park. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the valley and good paths for dog walking, etc. Watch for skunks I heard, but so no sign of any. Be prepared with a walking stick and water as some trails are much longer than expected. Beautiful country.

My children and I, head to this local gem, every few weeks. They have something for everyone! My children often order books online and have them put on hold. They have a great little section of french books too, which help my extra french Reading for school. Staff is always kind and helpful! I love their used books sales and that they will accept used books, once read. As well, they have some great programs during the year for kids!!

Loved the diverse art and info available on each artist. I walked around several times and discovered something new each time. This gallery is run with passion and knowledge. Don't miss it.

This is a pleasant riverside community park area with children climbing frames and Seating for adults while they supervise their children. Connected to the network of footpaths and cycle tracks and close to a parking lot, this park is very popular when the weather is good.

If and when you visit Cochrane Albert you MUST stop in at the Studio West foundry. If you enjoy sculptures, especially bronzes in the Remington tradition then this stop is for you.
You can see some of their work at various locations around town, but for the true experience you have to go to the source.
So when in Cochrane make the time to visit the Foundry and "ENJOY"!!

This was the most boring and unexceptional trail ride we've ever been on. First on the plus side, the young 'guides' were pleasant enough and Griffin offers a wide variety of horses to suit all sizes and abilities of riders. And the terrain is promising. That said, we were underwhelmed by the dull plod around a track in the forest that was less visually impressive than many (most?) of Calgary's urban parks. A sad comment for a property where with a gain of 100 meters of elevation we would have had a grand view of the Rockies under blue sky and sun. To add insult to injury we started with a large group 15 minutes late and so got a 45 minute ride for our 60 minutes of payment. Further we could not ride with a jacket tied around our waste, a debatable precaution, nor even a tight fitted camera bag, which was definitely an excessive precaution and an inconvenience. Sadly the trail we took offered nothing of photographic value anyway whereas a short ride up to a viewpoint could have changed the entire experience. With the potential of this property, management needs to revisit its offering. To be fair, pony rides are offered for young children and they were having a hoot, and there is a handy picnic area albeit with washrooms in poor condition by any reasonable standard.
