A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit professional theatre, the Purple Rose produces 4 plays in each year-round season. Performances take place 7 times per week (Wednesdays through Sundays), with nearly 250 performances per year. Located in the charming city of Chelsea, Michigan, just west of Ann Arbor, the Purple Rose Theatre provides live entertainment for nearly 40,000 visitors each year. The theatre is an intimate space, with seating on 3 sides of the stage. With only 168 seats, audience members are never more than 5 rows from the action.

Billed as Michigan’s Dirt Roller Coaster, this trail is an amazing resource. Bikers and hikers travel in opposite directions. Make sure you go the right way. Lots of jumps and up and down. Beginners should try the Green Loop first. Hikers should avoid these trails on summer weekends.

Loved the nature center and was very informative but also the many trails were a big hit with our family. Our favorite was the bog trail.

We took our grandson here last summer! What a fun climbing area with swings, a sandbox, lots of climbing stairs and pathways, a great lookout tower, a fire engine, drinking fountain, and beautiful artwork. We were there for an hour and had a wonderful time!!

A very interesting factory tour of the Chelsea Milling Company. Takes about an hour, which includes an introductory film about the family-owned business since 1901, then a guided tour through the factory. Our guide was Thomas, very friendly and knowledgeable, and he did an excellent job, explaining the creation of the original jiffy mix, the family history, the evolution of the plant from a small flour mill to a sprawling factory, shipping jiffy mix throughout the U.S., and explaining the steps in the manufacturing process. And we were even given a gift bag at the end of the tour. It was well worth the time.
