Nice little coffee, tea bar. Person waited on us was very pleasant And did a good job. Will return whenever we stay at the McCrady Bed and Breakfast.

We took the Acorn avenue trail. It is marked rugged. It was a good balance of adventure and smooth winding paths. There was an observation deck that was several flights of stairs. We had ages six through mid-forties and everyone did well. Since we hiked this in fall, all of the water was dried up, but in the spring it looks like the path would be washed out in several places and one bridge has been completely swept away. We didn't mind, it just added more adventure. There were trees down that we had to climb over. It never seems to matter how clearly maps are marked and paths marked, I nearly always get lost! We ended up on a different path, but almost all of the forks have maps. I have learned that it is best to take a screen shot of the map at the entrance of a trailhead. I've found my way humorous times this way and this hike was no exception. The trail is marked with red markers. If you aren't sure where to go, just look for the markers a little way up a path. We saw birds, deer, and squirrels. There may have been more to see, but we are pretty loud in our group. We also ran across one human.
