A beautiful area along a country road. Plenty of parking and reasonable admission. The day we were there students were attending some type of camp. We listened to the instructor as she talked about the wetlands. Enter thru the lovely gift shop with lots of treasures. Make sure you take a map so you don't get lost. Walk thru a canopy of trees and you stumble upon art made from nature. Startling and impressive and there any many more around every bend. The only sounds you hear are birds chirping and the rustling of leaves in the breeze. There were some nasty little critters (I call them horse flies) and they bite. Next time I shall use bug repellent. Such a peaceful quiet place to walk and enjoy nature. Walked over a bridge with running water surrounded by the tree canopy. Someplace along the path we found picnic tables and had a quiet lunch in the shade. I liked that many trees were marked and the history. We saw joggers and dog walkers utilizing this wonderful area of solitude and serenity. Walked back toward the gift shop looking for the goats but we missed them. One can buy native plants at the gift shop. Walked over a bridge one of the students called it the 'turtle bridge'. Saw baby catfish which was a first for me. Very relaxing and friendly area to unwind and enjoy your surroundings.

This outlet mall has seen a number of significant improvements in recent years. There is a wide variety of stores to cover most shopping needs. They even put in a nail salon recently (and it's good!). The only improvement that I think needs to happen is the additional of additional food choices. There is a Subway, a pretzel shop, and a couple food trucks, but it would be nice if there were more options.

Ben and Mrs Too were quick to take advantage of a very welcome, even if only temporary, break in the freakishly cold temperatures in our area. We crossed the Chesapeake Bay bridge to Kent Narrows and enjoyed an unexpectedly fine lunch in Grasonville, Maryland then went on to Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center.
Even to ardent lovers of “The Bay”, in the dead of winter, the forbidding grey aspect of the region does little to warm the heart of a traveler. Our visit to this attraction was more of a reconnaissance for future plans than an occasion for instant enjoyment. We were greeted warmly by a docent in the visitor center, supplied with a map, and treated to a learned discourse on the Center, its mission, and the offerings it afforded to members and visitors.
Whether as part of a trip to the Bay region as a traveler from Anywhere, USA or a day tripper from Maryland, Delaware, even Virginia or Pennsylvania, this is a marvelous introduction to the enjoyable, sustainable, and ecological richness of nature seen just as it has been throughout recorded history. The Center offers such delights as hiking several trails, canoeing or kayaking the backwaters of a premier seafood provider, or simply enjoying the vistas.
The Center maintains an inventory of thirty some rental watercraft. one canoe and the balance kayaks accommodating either one or two paddlers. Personally, Ben and his beautiful young bride think that the use of canoes for exploration, photography and acclimating offspring are much more suitable than the currently popular kayaks, and they are inclined to do something about that.
Whether you are a local nature lover, a regional visitor, a Cornhusker or Arkansas Razorback looking for a bucket list visit, this is just the ticket for you.

We stopped in while in town over the Thanksgiving holiday. Beautiful gallery, very personal. The art was varied in terms of style and medium, but every piece was engaging. The owner was there, and took the time to explain some of the pieces.

We were here for spring break. We usually tent camp but rented a mini cabin just in case the weather did not cooperate (of course it did!). The loop we stayed in was practically deserted and there appeared to be only two other sites being occupied. The cabin was clean and accommodated us well for sleeping/changing clothes; otherwise all of our other activities were done outside. The bunk bed was very narrow but our two young boys fit fine. The other bed was a double and a thin mattress on a wood frame (but that was expected). There was a nice flat loop for our boys to ride bikes and plenty of other trails to ride or hike. The lake was nice, we rented kayaks and fished (didn't catch anything!). The kids LOVED the tire park (one of the nicest I've seen) and also had fun played disc golf for the first time. We did a bit of geocaching as well and checked out the aviary behind the ranger station. My youngest son was heartbroken when it was time to leave (us too!). We'll be back.
PROS: quiet, well-maintained*, very family-friend, esp for young kids, lots of activities
CONS: *bathrooms were not very clean (i.e., bug, mud, leaves) but also not unsanitary; our pet-friendly cabin (D) was next to the dumpster which smelled a bit like trash before it was emptied the day after we got there. These were not deal-breakers for us though.

This is a neat little stop if you're in the area. It's one of the oldest mills in operation in the USA - been going strong since 1862. They have a donation box at the front entrance - I think they asked for $2 or so. They don't grind everyday. The lady that runs that place wasn't there - she was at the store up the street, but came and talked when she saw my car. She was friendly and explained about the area and the history of the site. She was a granddaughter or great granddaughter I believe.
You can see the large stones that they use to mill, as well as buying things they mill there. They have a small museum section of the mill as well. There is no washroom inside, but they did have a port-a-potty outside which requires them to give you the key to.
It was a good experience. I was only there maybe 15-20 minutes. It's not something to go out of your way for, but its worth the stop if you're in the area.

From the moment we walked through the doors we were welcomed. The women could not have been more friendly. They knew exactly where we were heading and suggested several stops along the way and around town. We left with enough to do on several visits. Thank you so much fit all your help.

I have driven past the Church Hill Theatre several times and have wanted to check it out. Finally I took my husband to see One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. The theatre itself is small, clean, and there's not a bad seat in the place. You can tell that there is a core group of people who love this place and put their heart and soul into it. The people who run it are so nice, very excited about it all and so welcoming. There is a small concession stand selling snacks and wine and beer, so that was wonderful during intermission. The show itself was really good, fun, good set, sound, and interesting to see it adapted to theatre. They did a very good job! 20$ a ticket, worth it and I will go back!

I will start by saying I played the Lakes course with a friend we play every other month or so. This was a planned trip we both looked forward to very much and had a great time on a very very nice, well maintained and clean course ( including carts ) Great views of the River peaking through here and there I think it is a great layout, Tee boxes were nice fairways very nice and very nice greens. We played the Gold T's with 2 guys the pro shop paired us up with both were nice guys and good players ( I'm a 15 hcp my friend is 18 ) we all played well together we got sun clouds and a soaking downpour Pars bogeys double bogeys we all had a good time.
My partner and I went into the " Grill " a waitress was cleaning up a few tables, removing trash and spraying and wiping,,, then going into the kitchen,,, then disapearing,,, then popping out again to clean more tables. We thought we heard her say ( with no enthusiasm you would expect from a waitress ) I'll be there in a minute,, now this is after more than 5 minutes. We both commented to each other " are we supposed to order up there ? or does she come to the table?,,, We went to the counter ordered 2 sandwiches and a Bloody Mary,,an ice water he had to ask for 2 times, and a Coke,,, I ordered this with a lady who we saw earlier working the outside grill at the turn who happened to come to the counter ( she was very nice ),, not the waitress who was working Inside ( she has the face of a pig ) She brought the sandwiches and coke to the table,, then disapeared again. We ate,, we talked,, we finished and waited and waited again. I guess we will pay up there then,, I went up to pay $ 33.00 for the above items 2, four bite sandwiches a coke and a Drink,, ok,, ok figure $ 10.00 each for the food and the drink. I forgot about the Bloddy Mary and questioned the price,, $ 33.00 for that ? when she said the drink then I figured ok... but she said it with a $#!tty reply,, I was caught off gard by this. So I said , Thanks for the great service,,, as I turned away I heard her say @zz#0!!3,, I paused turned around and said excuse me??? did you say something to me? her reply was nothing,, I asked where is your manager,,, she said " we don't have one ",, I said get your manager,, her reply was the same. By now I was popping out of my shoe's,, I went to the pro shop I saw a gentleman at the desk and told him what she said,, I told him as an employer I would fire her on the spot for this. I don't know what happened because as he was asking her what happened,, we gathered up our things from the table and left the building. If you all at QH Links read this there are PEOPLE FRIENDLY Resturant workers out there to hire. Everyone we met throughout the day was fantastic when we checked in,, the guys we played with,, the Red Cart Marshalls,, everyone we were in a great mood upon entering the grill and left very Disapointed ., get rid of This lady,, with such a Terrible demeanor. 1 person brings you from an excellant rating to TERRIBLE

Old Wye Church, near Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, is an Episcopalian church dating to about 1720, though it has been renovated. There's serene beauty to it, and I have enjoyed both walking around in it and just sitting in a pew and meditating. If you find yourself in this area, stop in and look about. It's a lonely setting surrounded by a cemetery, but American churches this age in such good condition are uncommon. Although it's nowhere near New England, it made me think of early America there and the writings of Nathaniel Hawthorne.
