I took my two God kids to RVZL. This was not my choice. The five lines are your typical lines: a slight hike (some might find strenuous) to the line the a ride through the trees. This group offers zip lining for all handicapable individuals where other lines do not. It also offers one of the longest lines in the area. This line gives you time to really enjoy the ride and look around. What they don't offer is the opportunity to really learn to zip. You just ride. You do not stop yourself. There are only five lines where other zipling groups in the area offer 10 to twelve lines plus a tarzan swing. There is no where for a non rider to enjoy the experience and follow along and watch or video the experience. And because it's on private property, you have to be shuttled in. This means you are subject to waiting for your entire tour group to be ready to leave before you can leave. If others in the group want to buy items from the meager store, or look through the ghost town style saloon, you have no choice but to stay as well. Zip lining is always fun for me and the kids in any form. The guides were wonderful, Sara and Steve on the day we went. But I have been to better zip line places. However if you are looking for somewhere quick and really close buy to the valley, I would recommend RVZL.

The trip was conducted in a highly professional manner, and the guide was knowledgeable and accommodating to anything the guests needed. Holey Cow cheese is made in Paso Robles, California, but isn't easy to find in the East Bay Area. Rogue Creamery has it! They also have cheese curds, great for making poutine. Wonderful blue cheeses? Yup, they have great ones. If you want great cheese, this is the place for you. I just wish it wasn't hundreds of miles from home.

This is an interesting, peaceful cemetery just outside of town. You can drive right into it, and walk around, looking at the graves in the various sections (e.g., Jews, Catholics, Freemasons, Redmen [these were not Native Americans]). There are informational signs in each section, which provides some history. You may also find a tree with a beehive in it!

Crater Rock Museum

Crater Rock Museum houses the finest displays of rocks, minerals and gems on the West Coast. Exhibits include a collection of world-class minerals, collection of petrified woods, fossils, Native American artifacts, and much more! The museum gift shop is filled with the works of local artists from the Roxy Ann Gem & Mineral Society. The museum started out as a humble "shack" where locals could visit and perhaps ask about an interesting rock, or to gather around as a group and share "rock hounding" stories. It's grown a lot since then. In fact, we've completed our expansion project that began in 2003. The original 5,400 square foot museum is now more than 12,000 square feet, housing community meeting rooms, a larger gift shop, workshop, and exhibit areas. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, admission is $4 for adults, $2 for students & seniors (55+), ages 0 to 5 are free. Guided tours are available by appointment. We also offer meeting facilities to house one-time gatherings, or on-going weekly or monthly business sessions.

When you step into the train park, your mind will be transformed back to the old times. A much simpler time. You can even have a message sent over Morse code from one park location to another. You can ride the miniature trains around the miles of groomed track that shows how beautiful and majestic the Pacific Northwest is. This is a very special place to all the locals, as we rode these trains growing up and now it's time to let our kids enjoy.
