It's a very well maintained castle, clean and very nice. It's easy to tell that is being looked after carefully. And the view from there is insane.

Green Gold Fountain

It was a girls' night out and we ended up at this place where we stayed almost for two hours tasting beer and enjoying the place. There is 6 different beers and my personal best was the green-coloured one. You pay 8 € for the crystal glass (Oskar Kogoj design it) and you can take it home as a souvenir. It's like a self-catering bar. High-tech self-catering bar. :)
It's also great because you can sit on lounge chairs, there are free book for Reading and did I mention 6 different beers? ;) It's definitely a must-to-do thing in Slovenia.

Really a nice place, just outside of the city. There is a path along the lake, which ends in a nice bar, where you can sit on the benches below the trees and just by the lake.
It took us cca 1 hour to come around the lake. Nice Sunday trip.

Regional museum has two big palaces. One is old Grofija and second is Duke’s palace. It was partly reconstructed. During the renovation they kept archeological findings in the cellar (part of old road, old antique sculptures) and added exhibition of Prehistory and another of the Celje dukes in the upper two floors. Exhibition is prepared for all generations, from children on. Second part of exhibition, specially about Alma Karlin and cultural history is in the Grofija. You will need more time for the museum than you expect.

Museum of Recent History Celje

By bringing to life objects and their stories we clarify the past, aid understanding of the present and help to shape the future. Welcome to a space for discovery, learning, interaction with others and reflection. Museum has 5 permanent exhibitions: Life in Celje, Children's Museum, Dental exhibiton, Photographic studio Josip Pelikan and "Stari Pisker"- Celje Prison during the World War 2.

Reviewed By Miha P - Maribor, Slovenia

Museum is a nice surprise. It is accomodated for young generation in one part of their collection. Second part is reserved for recent history: nice and other events from 20. century. Third part is interesting: they saved some original little shops and workshops (hairdresser, tailor, modiste). We all wish to keep these workshops down, on the streets of Celje. Museum is not too big and has very comfortable position in the middle of Celje.
