This is a most beautiful mediaeval monastery which still houses about ten working monks. The architecture of the building is astounding - it is actually built into cliff and incorporates the cliff face. The guided tour is worth taking, showing the beautiful library and the vaults and giving a lot of background information. It has to be said that it is considerably off the beaten track and takes a little finding in the little hamlet of Corpo di Cavo - so if you are moving along the Amalfi coastline fairly fast, it is worth taking this into consideration.

Great for people watching, cafes, shopping and it's flat for easy walking. A little incline as you get to the old part but not a problem. Not very many tourists so prices are great. Beautiful churches and well kept apartment buildings. If you park at the public lots bring coins. The machines won't take paper money!

Ingresso libero ma è consigliata un'offerta all'uscita, è un presepe di enormi dimensioni che si snoda in più locali e che culmina con la riproduzione della grotta di Betlemme. Ho trovato particolarissimo il sistema di luci che rende il soffitto un'immensa nuvola. Ubicato dietro la chiesa di San Francesco.

Meraviglioso presepe artistico,che troverete aperto soprattutto nei mesi tra Novembre e Gennaio iperplasia eccezionale mostra in carta pesta .Nei mesi a seguire sarà disponibile la visita solo su richiesta di gruppi di visitatori a prenotazione.

Se uno va in visita all'abbazia di Cava de Tirreni, deve assolutamente fare un salto quì.
Copletamente messa a nuovo è un gioiello incastonato tra le roccie.E' un luogo di culto privilegiato da parte dei cavesi ed è retto dai Benedettini, della vicina e meravigliosa Abbazia.
Andateci e scoprirete altro, e perchè si appella "Avvocatella".
Non resterete delusi.Chi è amante della antropologia culturale del Sud ,deve andarci.Un imperativo categorico.Fidatevi.

Per tanti anni aveva ,in silenzio, patito gli insulti arrecati dal terremoto devastante del 1980.da diversi anni,I Frascheca ,che ne curano la tenuta e la conduzione,l'hanno tirata a lucido.Certo non è più quella di prima , ma il restauro effettuato, ne ha rispettato l'impianto originale e riconsegnata ,in tutto il suo splendore al culto popolare.
Da vedere assolutamente.Ne vale la pena.
Ascoltateci messa....ascoltate la timbrica dell'organo.celestale.
