Was surprised with how modern it was. It really didn't feel like you were in church. Was also amazed at how large it was. Songs of praise were nothing I had heard but were beautiful. May go back again when in the area.

We love the walking tracks in Cumberland State Forest, from the easy (and accessible) 300 metre sensory trail, to various longer trails which wind their way through Valleys and up some steeper hills, all sheltered by towering native forest and all available free of charge....MoreThanks for the review Lee L. Our tour company, Audley, set up a private car tour for us with Australian Luxury Escapes to the Blue Mtns. On the way we stopped for 1.5 hrs at the wildlife rehab center--had our photo with the koala! Great rescue for wildlife that cannot be returned to the wild. Our driver was great. He learned that we loved organ music so he told us all about the organ at the town hall then offered to play a CD he had of organ music! We were just floating on our drive out to the blue mtns. He stopped in a small park on the way and we listened to birds singing in the trees as well as he had a lovely tea set up with desserts at a picnic table in the woods. He spotted a few kangaroos in the park and we also loved spotting birds in the forest. A very special stop. We learned a lot about the area. We stopped several places to get out and walk to see different views. Had lunch at a nice restaurant on the edge of the park. Very comfortable van. Even though we were advised that tipping was not common in Australia, he earned a tip from us!

Museums Discovery Centre

The Museums Discovery Centre (MDC) is a collaboration between the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS), Australian Museum (AM) and Sydney Living Museums. Inside the MDC you will find millions of treasures, with hundreds on display for you to explore, and thousands more waiting to be discovered through booked tours of the deep collection stores. A visit to the MDC also provides you with a rare opportunity to learn about museum collecting, conservation and research practices.

The Powerhouse Discovery Centre has recently re-opened after a major two-year refurbishment in which it joined forces with the Historic Houses Trust and the Australian Museum. This is another of Sydney's hidden gems so is not (yet) overrun by school holiday visitors. The centre is and an ideal family attraction covering a wide range of exhibits from a Cobb and Co coach to the history of the development of the iconic Victa mower.
Many of the exhibits will remind visitors of their own childhood and impress upon the younger ones of how far we have come since "the olden days". Volunteer guides are on hand to explain the finer points of what is on offer...including a real electric car of the type driven by Donald's Grandma duck.
We attended with granddaughters (7 and 9) who voted it an ideal school holiday outing. The last hour of our visit had the girls engaged in a freeform craft experience. Sadly the centre is currently only open on weekdays which restricts the opportunities for a major target market (schoolkids of all ages) to visit. This at least means that retired folk can enjoy the museum at times that suit them so they can reminisce at leisure. A return visit is in order.

The menu changes seasonally and there are menu specials to keep things interesting.
Lately, I love the salmon poke bowl!
Staff, from the bar to the kitchen, are always friendly and polite.

I heard of this museum via word of mouth and I just have to say it is amazing.
It's not just classic American cars but lots and lots of memorabilia from these times! The cars are all in excellent condition and are a delight to view. Everything was displayed well and there was so much memorabilia that it was hard to absorb it all in one visit.
The museum is only open to the public one day a month, but definitely worth a visit.
Put it on your bucket list today!

Good location for a picnic but better to take young kids on a short bushwalk. The path has a couple of pretty spots to stop and review the lake.

Castle Towers Shopping Centre

Reviewed By Peter T - Sydney, Australia

I use to like Castle Shopping centre but ever since they introduced ticket-less parking. There have been problems with the slowness of the plate recognition to open the gate, Tonight 21/12/17 was the worst as my wife exited the car park around 8 30 pm after arriving around 5 50 pm.
The number plate of her car wasn’t recognised as being
1. Under 3 hours
2. Being a registered senior card holder with Castle Towers
3. She was charged something like $40.00
4. She left from Yellow Car park (Northern eastern car park) exit
How do we seek a refund?
