I never received confirmation that CPW received the payment I sent.
I never received any email or call in advance confirming our dive appointment.
I never received any email from your CPW about where to go or when. I later saw a one-sentence email saying to come dive at 9am but with NO NAME OF THE DIVE SHOP, so I thought it was A DIFFERENT SHOP.
I never received any email or call asking why we didn’t show up on the first day and if we were still coming on the second day or third day. Obviously if I had, I could have easily switched shops to salvage the situation.
I never received any email or call asking why we didn’t show up for the entire duration of the dive.
I believe that communication is needed on both ends for a successful business transaction and that I shouldn’t bear the entire responsibility, given the above.
I never heard back re any of the above and was not refunded the $367.95 deposit I gave them via PayPal.
They are horrible with communication and seem not to care about customer service.
Go dive with Pilu at Cabo Pulmo Diving. She’s fantastic.

This place is definitely worth the drive out to see it. There are several different Beaches for snorkelling and diving. You can do both guided and independent tours - although the Beaches are not well marked so stop in at the information centre when you arrive to get specific kilometre location information.

Cabo Pulmo Sport Center

Cabo Pulmo Sport Center started business in 1991. Since that year we provide ecoturistic services in Cabo Pulmo, a small town on the coast of the Gulf of California, which was named by Jack Cousteau as the Aquarium of the world. Here you will be able to fully enjoy both under the water or on the surface surrounded by the incredible Mountains of our community.

My wife and I went out on a Sunday to Cabo Pulmo and arrived around 11 am.
There weren't many tourists around and we inquired at several dive shops about arranging a snorkeling tour.
We went to Cabo Pulmo Sport Centre and they suggested we hang around because they might be able to combine us with some other folks for a snorkeling trip. We went for a walk on the beach and one of the guys came running out to get us because another group had come along.
They provided wet suits (which we recommend because the water in February was still a bit chilly) and can outfit you with masks, fins and snorkels.
We had 4 stops over the course of about 3-1/2 hours. One in a shallow lagoon, where there were lots of colorful fish; another nearby, where there were large schools of fish swirling around; a sea lion colony, to swim with them; and finally a stop at a coral reef within the marine park.
During out outing, we we lucky enough to see a humpback whale breach close to us, so I would have to say we got good value for our money.

We dove for three days with David and Pilu and had a fantastic time. I was a little worried about the boat launch, but it was super-easy, as easy as getting into a boat from a pier. (Maybe not so easy for the guys driving the truck pulling the boat into and out of the water!) We hadn't dared hope to see the bait balls from all of the pictures online, but they were indeed on every dive. It's magical. What David's family has accomplished in creating this nature reserve is truly commendable. Pilu has a great attitude and was a fantastic guide. She even gave us a CD with photos at the end. So cool.

While we didn't use Pepe for our water needs, we did use him for our hunger. Since Cabo Pulmo is in the middle of nowhere, when someone offers pizza..you get what you get. But....Pepe did not disappoint! He learned his skills while working in Chicago and he learned well. He was very proud of his creation (as well he should have been!) and even pointed to the eggplant that he'd added to the veggie pizza. His end product was wonderful and we were very happy to have met the creator as well.

East Cape Adventures

Reviewed By IndySig - Indy

Our accommodations in La Ribera suggested East Cape Adventures to us and made the Reservations for for the snorkel trip. We were very pleased with the trip and would use them again, even though our trip guide was awful.
One of the most important persons on the snorkel trip is the boat driver. His skills are essential to the safety of the people on board and the snorkelers in the water. He is the one that sees what is happening from above while you are in the water and generally he is the spotter. Our boat captain was excellent.
We started by heading straight out to see the whales that were breaching. They were putting on such a show and we had front row seats. Next up was swimming on the very healthy coral reef with an array of wonderful fish. We then found a large school of jack cravelle and had a great time swimming with this incredibly large school of fish. Sea lions, snowflake eels, moorish idols and the list goes on and on. Such a wonderful day. Some of the biggest fish we have ever seen ona reef.
The company had wet suits for all of us and you must wear your life vest. They were very attentive to your safety.
Our Guide: this was the huge negative of the trip. We were the only two in the trip and we are very experienced swimmers. Therefore, I think this is why they sent us on the trip with a very inexperienced and probably non-certified guide. He was maybe 15 and his English skills were minimal. In fact, we could not even understand his Spanish. He was very excitable and snorkeled like a wounded sea lion (his splashing even spooked the fish). After three minutes in the water, we kept our distance and followed the lead of the boat driver. This young man was just worthless in the water and in delivering instructions. Again, we are experienced and we followed the lead of the boat.
Even with the deficiencies of our guide, this was an excellent trip and we shared our concerns with the manager and he had already pulled over the boat driver to talk with him about the young man.
Cabo Adventures uses this company for their trips out of Cabo and we know their certified guides are good.
Would we use them again- Yes we would but we would insist on a more experienced guide.
