Broxbourne Golf

9 hole Par 3 golf course, 9 hole foot golf course and an 18 hole crazy golf course! We serve food, have a licensed bar and our Club house is available for hire for private functions or corporate events. Perfect fun for groups, families, friends, dates and we have activities suitable for all ages.

I bought a Groupon voucher for this crazy golf course and my husband and I went on a Friday morning as I had a day off work. We were greeted by a friendly man who gave us the equipment and directed us to the start. What a lovely kept place. It looked fresh and lush and had a lot of exciting greens with both easy and difficult holes to reach. We really enjoyed our time on the course and loved the very last hole which invited you to hit the ball into an outside lavatory! On leaving I used the facilities in the clubhouse and was impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the place. We dithered over having a hot drink, deciding to go on to lunch instead. A couple had what looked like a good coffee so I suspect that the drinks would be tasty here. Maybe next time, as we are definitely coming back with friends. Highly recommended.

We have been here 3 times recently taking the Grandchildren for their birthday treats. There is so much to do and see and the food was good value too. The children especially loved the Dinosaur Experience with life size moving replicas of the real ones that also make sounds too. The Children's play area has so much for them to do and the Dinosaur train is great fun as well. The last time we went was Halloween weekend and there was Face painting, Pumpkin Carving and a Quiz to do as you walked around the park with the chance to win an experience day. And when we visited in the Summer the children loved the pool too. All in all a great day out, for children and adults, would thoroughly recommend it.

Sculpture Trail

Reviewed By aramis - Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

The Sculpture Trail in Broxbourne Woods is one of my favourite walks, and I do it often. The woodland scenery varies throughout the seasons, and as well as the lifesize wooden sculptures there are other things to be seen, such as trees, colourful ferns, and occasional woodland animals. It was a warm October afternoon when I last walked the trail, and took more photos of the changing scenes. In the fenced off rough pasture adjacent to the sculpture trail, there were a number of English longhorn cows grazing. These are majestic beasts with long horns, and may look intimidating but they are gentle animals - but don't approach them directly or get too close. There are two separate car-parks, both free and unmanned, but do not leave valuables, or in fact any possessions on show. I've never had a problem, but why tempt thieves. You could walk the whole trail easily in less than hour, and it's clearly defined from the car-parks. I usually branch off onto other paths, but don't go too far off if you're not sure of your bearings. There are no toilets nor refreshment facilities, but these are available at the pub in the nearby village of Brickenden.

The Wheelwrights

We had our baby shower/gender reveal at The Wheelwrights - Goffs Oak with 37 people. All the staff were simply oustanding, especially the lady who took over assisting us when the manager left recently. Everyone's roast dinner arrived promptly (and correctly - as people pre-ordered different roasts), but most importantly HOT and FRESH! Not one person complained or faulted the food in any way - and there were just empty plates! All the staff were friendly, helpful and approachable. The room we had our event in was perfect for our day, and The Wheelwrights worked with us to ensure it was memorable, stress-free and special. Thank you

My daughter has had a birthday booking and had great fun out in the woods, it was a safe and fun environment with plenty of games. It is in a wood so don’t expect high class wash facilities... it is a portaloo situation - Wash stations and hand sanitisers are available. Friendly staff who allowed us to bring our own cake and treats which we set up on their picnic tables and had a great couple of hours. Wear old clothes as they get dirty!
