Grimp'in Forest

This is a fun park that's outdoors, with all kinds of climbing contraptions in the trees for kids of all ages and levels (and adults too!). Our kids (one teen and one 11 year old) agreed that the courses (beginning and intermediate) were both challenging and exciting. The safety lock system gave me some peace of mind (your child can't fall off the climbing course) and the safety video was in English. The employees were super friendly and helpful as well!

There are a few companies to choose from to go rafting but you should go with this one. It is owned by 2 guys who really make the trip worth your while. We went for the 'sportif' rafting and it was great fun and it didn't feel rushed. Cyril really went the extra mile and transported us to and from the rafting site. I would highly recommend doing this if you are in Montgeneve.

Experience the thrill of walking the longest Tibetan bridge in the world, suspended inside a canyon for 468 meters !!! Come and visit us, at the village of Claviere (TO) Italy

Reviewed By Robby_Cristian - Calgary, Canada

The Tibetan Bridge over the San Gervasio gorge is a real treat, an experience of a lifetime. Highly recomended!!
It's around 500m long, having 1,350 sleppers at 40 to 80 metres from the bottom of San Gervasio canyon. There is no solid pylon on the course of the bridge, just steel cables that anchor the bridge from the canyon high walls. This marvelous engineering was completed in 2006. The locals say it is the longest Tibetan Bridge in the world.
The feeling is great, you walk safety anchored off the whole passing time, above the canyon and savour the unsploiled wild beauty.
Once you get your tickets, give yourself around 1h 1/2 - 2 hour to complete the tour. Pay attention on the safety briefing and learn how a double carabiner system works. After the staff will help you to put on the safety harness, you're ready to go. There is a 15 minutes walk from the ticket office to the chalet where you'll start your suspended adventure. The first sight of the bridge may challenge you mentally, but after a few steps you'll be just fine. For your safety, always use properly the double carabiner system, that means at least one carabiner must keep you clipped on the obove steel cable.
Ponte Tibetano: read about it, dream of it, make it happen! Have lots of fun!!

Such a lovely hike. Good for families, and the scenery is very pretty. Hikes here are all fairly easy-nothing strenuous. Whole family loved it, and we stopped by Auberge L'arpelin for lunch, which we highly recommend as well.

Luge Monty Express

Reviewed By jessiecat25 - Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

I'm not generally a dare devil and would normally say I hate fairground rides and rollercoasters.... however .... this luge has got to be done.
You go down in your own cart unless you have a young child who can ride with you.
It doesn't open until 1.30pm (or certainly not during this time of year) so is a good thing to plan to do after lunch which you could go to the lovely restaurant at the top of the gondola right by where the luge runs from.
The luge carts do have breaks but you don't want to ruin the ride for the person behind you so the least you use them the better!
Hold on tight and enjoy the ride! It's not the most comfortable cart and it did make my back hurt a little whizzing down the mountain but an excellent thing to do, well worth the 6euros and the little ones loved it too!

Montgenevre Ski Resort

Reviewed By Michelle E - Swansea, United Kingdom

Perfect position right in the boarder of France and Italy.
2 years ago we stayed in Sestrière Italy and were blown away with the hospitality of the Italians! The resort was reasonable and good for beginners and children.
This year we found Montgenevre and being in France I thought we’d miss the Italian hospitality. I needn’t have worried. Being right on the border (literally can ski to Italy and back!) you have the best of both worlds.
Food and drink - be prepared to pay! A little more expensive this side of the border but there are a few places slightly cheaper but decent prices. 5 minutes Drive is Clairviere. Italian side and definitely cheaper! Small though nice for a visit wouldn’t want to stay there.
Snow - amazing! Snowed every night and sunny sky’s every morning! Couldn’t have asked for better. Wasn’t too cold either think our coldest day was -3 but with the sun shinning and all wrapped up we were fine! Deep snow! Lovely powerdery and perfect for building snowmen and snowball fights!
Sleigh slops - Children’s area with designated slops for the children. Hired sleigh’s for between €4/8 for the day. Some sit 2! Hours of fun had with these with the adults and kids in the group! Can’t take the sleighs onto the ski area though.
Ski-ing- I’m a beginner and stuck to the greens which there were plenty of! Some were a bit tricky in places and I did fall but other skiers were always happy to help!
Others in the groups were on Blues and Reds. They did comment that the reds seemed more challenging than at other resorts and so no1 attempted the blacks! Plenty of runs to suit the whole group. Children were more than happy in the nursery slopes! Top Tip Under 6’s are Free to ski! Also no ski pass needed for the magic carpet to the nursery slopes. (Sestrière everyone had to have a ski pass!) good if your a beginner just need to pay for ski hire! Lots of adults on nursery slopes don’t worry!! Also good if your helping your little ones!
Flights- 1.5 hours from Turin. Found flights with Easy Jet £52 each return from Bristol. Fantastic!
Can’t wait to come back here we had the most amazing week!!! Breathtakingly Beautiful!

Cite Vauban

Reviewed By Chip1701 - Plymouth, Minnesota

If you are traveling to Briançon anyway, you should definitely take some time to wander around within the walls of this old fort area called Cité Vauban. It is impressively massive although there is not much to see within it- mostly tourist shops and restaurants. The local TI will give you a map with a self-guided tour that takes about an hour. Our opinion was that the best parts were the walls of the fort itself, and the views of the surrounding Mountains and into the Valleys below. There is a guided tour to some of the other fortifications above on the mountainside but only in French.
