Q.W.P.A. was a phenomenal experience. I will always repeat this majestic adventure with Q.W.P.A. when I return to New Mexico. The company management has great spirit and positive energy. Fortunately the weather was awesome too, the cottonwoods were in their Autumnal "Golden Attire"!

My wife is a skilled rider (english) and I know nothing. We had a blast at this wonderful Stable. The people are super friendly and helpful. Our horses were super cool. We went on a trail ride with Jasmine who chatted away with my wife about horses. We went for an hour ride to the petroglyphs (bonus) that you could not otherwise get to see. We walked and trotted. Jasmine gave me a few pointers about how to control the horse. It was great. And at the stables they also rescue horses. And it was not really expensive. I highly recommend it.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Presented by Canon

Imagine over 500 colorful hot air balloons rising up at dawn over the New Mexico landscape… there's truly nothing like it, and the place to experience it is each October at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Spectators and balloon pilots from all over the world gather (some even camping in their RVs) to watch mass ascensions held in the mornings and night events like a 'glowdeo' held in the evening. Music stages are set up during the day and performers stroll through the festival crowds. Every year the Balloon Fiesta kicks off on the first Saturday of October and continues for nine days.

We found out the information from our hotel about the Balloon festival and were disappointed to find out that we had missed the balloons going up at night. However we were informed that we could see the balloons going up the following morning.

We got up very early at 6.30am! It was freezing so if you are going early in the morning wrap up as i was frozen even with the sun shining. The staff at the hotel advised us that when they watch the balloons they find a street off the freeway and park up and watch the balloons.

We found a car showroom retail park and parked up with a great view of where the balloons would be ascending. It was extremely cold but lovely to see the sun rising. there was no one else parked beside us until bit later.

Disappointingly there was a problem with the ascension as we were watching at the allocated time and nothing happened. We went online and you can get exact information and the wind was the problem. I was worried they wouldn't be able to go up and we were leaving to go onto Gallup. We then saw 1/2 balloons going up and got excited but that was it. After about an hr and half 20 balloons went up and was an amazing sight to see them all going up at different times. There wasn't the mass ascension we were expected butt more and more began to ascend to the skies.

We moved on and had to get petrol and there was a petrol station nearby which was extremely busy with people now watching the ascension which was in mid flow.

I'm glad we got up early and were able to see this amazing sight. Defo worth going to if you can.

Read all about the controversy; but this place was a cave for the ancients. You can see why when you make the climb. Great observation site. Prepare to get dirty as you duck down and into this cave.

We decided to visit on spur of the moment. The museum was interesting but our guide, Sheri brought the history of the place to like. Seeing the old paintings from the Kivas was awe inspiring. Gaining a sense of the history of the place and of the Kiva people was unexpected and thought provoking.

Now my husband and I are intrigued by an vintage car driving by and will look at it but we don't go to car museums nor shows. My Michigan brother was in town and I looked at the internet to find something for him and told him about this place. He said let's go. We were duly impressed! Lots of wonderful cars, fascinating stories and nice people to talk with.
It held our interest throughout and thoroughly thrilled my brother.

WE DESERVE BETTER~Last night we gave Cantina Rio a 3rd chance and unfortunately the food in the Cantina has not approved, in fact it is worse than the 1st two times. Basically everything is not seasoned properly starting with the Salsa. The management in this restaurant needs to try the Salsa and other food the kitchen is preparing, if you have lived in NM for a little while, you will notice right away that the food is lacking taste. We have tried all aspects of the menu on the 3 occasions and all have had the same results. The service is OK (No napkins on table, have to ask for refills on drinks, water, tea). Full bar with Decent selection of craft & other beers on tap. Management has responded very positively to our feedback in the moment, but are doing nothing about the quality of the food. 1st time they took off 10%, second time 50% and last night there was no way we were going to pay for the food and they agreed and took all the food off the bill. I think you could have a better meal at any other restaurant in the area. We hope Sadie's comes back to Bernalillo and are excited for Bosque Brewing to be coming to this area. Would like Cantina to survive but they need a lot of help~

Willow Creek Trail

Reviewed By Denny R - Corrales, New Mexico

This is a multiple-option trail with compacted, wide (~5-6 feet or more) trails (except for the soft sand on the first 40 yards of the trail or so). It has a good parking lot and could be wheel-chair accessed except for the vehicle excluder at the gate and the early deep sand. Great for bikes and hikes with virtually no altitude variation. Nature guides posted along the trails and frequent availability of benches make this a good way to first exercise at altitude (if you're not from higher terrain) or for a low stress or walk with family (dogs included). A few sections are along the Rio Grande bank nice scenery and wildlife in a Bosque setting. Easy to get to.
