The Village Playhouse

The Bancroft Village Playhouse offers audiences intimate access to live music, theatre and film. Drawing on local talent as well as nationally recognized names and acts, the Playhouse is the heart of Bancroft's Theatre District. With monthly TIFF screenings and community events like 'Croft Talks Live, there's always something going on at the historic theatre that is by operated by Hospice North Hastings in partnership with St. Paul's United Church. Proceeds from Playhouse events support the free programs and services provided by Hospice North Hastings which is why we say the Playhouse supports "Caring through Culture."

Egan Chutes Provincial Park

Reviewed By Baronchal2014 - Aurora, Canada

Note: Ignore google map. Its wrong: entrance is off highway 28 a short distance east of Bancroft. Its a non-operating provincial park. So no buildings nor signage to mark the entrance. Two access points at either side of the river off north side of Highway 28, main one on west side has a short uneven road to a small makeshift parking lot. Parking can be limited so be prepared to walk the 1 km from highway to trail head. Trail on west side is wide and obvious despite not being marked. And ends after about a kilometer, at one of the waterfalls. Only gets rugged at the end. Walk out for roots and small rock tripping hazards as the view is spectacular.

Eagle's Nest Park & Lookout

This is a spectacular place to see the area. Sitting way above the town of Bancroft you climb this very steep road to access it and when you come to the viewing platform you are blown away by the view.
