Absolutely worth seeing. Unique palaeontoligical finds dating back to 13 million years ago. Outstanding Sarmatian gold colection. History of Don Cossacs and Ottoman Empire. Don't miss it if you plan to visit Azov or Rostov-on-Don.

The Powder-magazine is part of the real fortification structure built in late 18th century to protect South Russia from the Ottoman Empire. The old atmosphere is recreated inside the building with dummies of soldiers that keep gunpowder in barrels there. There's a beautiful old diorama dedicated to a battled between Russians and Turks on the opposite wall taking you back to the late 17th century when Tsar Peter came to get Azov fortress into his hands. Which after some turmoil he managed to do. There are lots of accompanying monuments and artefacts in the area of the museum. Absolutely worth visiting.

Тогда станет понятно стремление России воевать эти земли и наше желание выйти к морю.
Славны предки построившие здесь крепость Азов.
Панорама отличная, вид на Дон прекрасный.
Реконструкция земляных укреплений впечатляет.

На этой площадке становится понятным почему Азов для османов, ордынцев, Петра I был так важен. Стратегический вид на устье реки.

Magnificent church built in the place of the temple destroyed by communists in the 1930''s. It belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. The construction was started by an old man named Lukich in early 90's and after his death it still continues with the help of Don Cossacks. The place has a historical meaning as it is located within the walls of the old military fortress used during the Russo-Turkish wars of 18-19 centuries. The domes are clearly seen from the remaining rampart of the fortress. Worth seeing.

Расположенный в центре города, близ исторического музея, памятник первому российскому генералиссимусу А.С. Шеину, на мой взгляд, пожалуй самый красивый памятник в Азове.
Алексей Семенович в обмундировании, с обнаженной шашкой в руке задумчиво смотрит вдаль...

Прогуливаясь по Азову, недалеко от Крепостного вала я увидел установленный памятник "Торпедный катер" - в память защитникам Отечества отдельного Донского отряда Азовской военной флотилии, оборонявший устье Дона и побережье Таганрогского залива.
Радует, что памятник поддерживается в опрятном состоянии, основание памятника свеже выкрашено, у памятника лежат свежие живые цветы.

Замечательный памятник казакам-героям Первой мировой войны в Азове схож с памятником героям первой мировой войны установленным в Ростове-на-Дону.
Основное различие в обмундировании героя, а так же наличие большого георгиевского креста за спиной казака-героя.

Мощный, состоящий из множества больших кусков гранита (как конструктор лего) памятник вождю пролитариата воздвигнут на, пожалуй, самой большой площади города.
При этом Ленин любуется просторами и дельтой Дона.

По въезду в город, двигаясь по Московской улице я заметил красивый храм. Как оказалось это Свято-Троицкий храм. Храм действующий, внутри храма царит благодатная атмосфера, достаточно много прихожан. Работает церковная лавка где можно заказать требы, купить свечи. Территория храма благоустроена и поддерживается в идеальном порядке.
