Lorain Port Authority

Reviewed By Hound N - Cleveland, Ohio

I've been to several tribute shows at this venue over 2 years and we've always had a good time. Admission is reasonably priced. Lots of free parking and easy access. Employees at the ticket table have always been very friendly. The entertainment has always been enjoyable. David Brighton's Space Oddity is a must see. Would like to see "designated" smoking areas. Not a fan of secondary smoke. Also, inside restrooms would have been great. That's why I gave it 4 stars. No place to wash hands and porta-johns never have hand sanitizer in them.

Vintage Lighting & Supply

The world's most unique lighting store with hundreds of parts, supplies, finished lights, and decor things you just won't find anywhere else.

Reviewed By Molly B

When I was looking for something different to give my house a "pop" of fun this place had many options to choose from signs, decorative pillows, high quality floral items, metal letters etc! Lighting supplies are just the tip of the iceberg. The customer service was top notch. Friendly helpful staff, even the owner can out to make sure I found what I was looking for. I recommend you check them out!

Brummer's Chocolates

Reviewed By linnalu - Cincinnati

First thing upon entering Brummer's was the wonderful aroma of sugar & chocolate! We were really surprised by the variety and how great everything looked. Since we were on our way to lunch, we decided to return afterward and really, really look at everything. So....... after lunch, Brummer's it was! The gorgeous candies were priced at $19.99 per pound -- not a bad price at all. We ended up buying about a pound & a half. You can pick & choose from the case and I ended up getting at least one of everything that sounded yummy to me. They have a huge assortment of cream centers and most were in dark or milk chocolate. I think fudge was priced at about $13 per pound -- not a big fudge fan, so didn't try. But the candies are excellent and have a really, really good flavor. (I think they are actually better than Malley's in Cleveland.) There is also a big assortment of taffy and penny candy. We get to the Lake Erie area about twice a year and you can bet that a side trip to Vermilion and Brummer's is in my future!

Awesome experience!! They teach and ease you into the experience with 'ground school'. The ziplines start out low and by the time you get to the highest and the end we were wishing it wasn't over. Our guides, Sara and Jess were great!!! This is one adventure you can't miss. Plus it's super reasonable!

Lakeview Park

This is a great trip to make with family, friends, or for a stroll alone. It is accessible for wheel chair bound with sidewalks throughout the rose garden park. Walk slowly to enjoy the colors and variety of colors, types, and scents. This beautiful garden includes the view of Lake Erie and the Lorain County Light House which is a historical site. Bring a lunch or stop by a nearby restaurant for lunch or dinner or an ice cream stand is close by (driving distance).

Allen Memorial Art Museum

Reviewed By Darrell L - Broadview Heights, Ohio

The Allen Memorial Art Museum is a great gem of a museum. One wouldn't think that a college campus would house as impressive A colletion of art as Oberlin College. When my friend and I visited, the contemporary galleries were closed for an exhibit installation. That didn't deter us as a sampling of the contemporary art was on display, including two Warhol pieces. The museum also houses a small, but mighty, collection of religious art from the Renaissance, Japanese prints, African art, and more. It may not be as large as the well-known art museums of the world but this Italianate building is no less impressive.

Paper Moon Winery

Reviewed By joanninct - Manchester, Connecticut

Paper Moon was the second stop on a winery tour I took last weekend. The only choice I had for wines was sweet or dry. When we arrived, the wines were already poured and waiting for our group. One in the glass and the other four in plastic cups. We also received a cheese and cracker plate.

I prefer choosing which wines I would like to try. My cousin had the dry and I had sweet so we were able to try each. I thought the plastic cups were a bit tacky.

Oberlin College

Reviewed By brian_va - Virginia

This is going to be listed as an unbiased review by a TripAdvisor member. Haha! I graduated from Oberlin College (class of 1967) and am planning to move back into the town. In addition, I recently asked a famous flute professor at the Conservatory to help me get rid of what turned out to be a professional quality flute (and needed by a second-year Conservatory student who didn't have a decent flute), and since then I've been treated by the professor, student and Conservatory dean as though I helped them rather than the other way around. So you can guess how unbiased I am. Nevertheless, this is an excellent place to visit. There are markers for the Underground Railroad, there's a Martin Luther King, Jr. park, the excellent Allen Art Museum, bike paths, more parks, a Frank Lloyd Wright building, and interesting architecture of the college itself, one of the first to accept women and African Americans and which includes one of the best conservatories in the country with both classical and jazz programs and several hundred musical performances a year! Top this off with some very good restaurants. I've just begun to sample them, but so far Wild Mango is at least one that is exceptional.
