It is part of the London commuter belt. Amersham is 15 miles (24 km) from Aylesbury and 13 miles (21 km) from High Wycombe.

What a treasured and cherished town Amersham is. The Museum shows it off to great advantage with it's ancient walls and beams, hands on displays and delightful medicinal garden. My grandchildren loved playing with the traditional games. Bowles and bagatelle especially.

A place you must visit,it offers a great selection of wine, beer,& cider you can purchase or take home.it also has a fully licensed bar where you can enjoy various changing draught ales and cider as well as wines.The interior and exterior is pleasing on the eye and and good Seating both inside and outside is available, the product knowledge and good service here is not to be missed.I highly recommend a visit when visiting the Town.

Bekonscot Model Village and Railway is the world’s oldest original model village. Set in Beaconsfield, just outside of London we are a popular day attraction for people of all ages.It was opened in 1929 and it’s a great place to bring the family and stomp around like giants! There are six model towns, a huge Gauge 1 model garden railway, ride-on railway, remote-controlled boats, Castles, lakes and industries in 1.5 acres of award-winning Gardens.It's a great family day out, and it's your chance to be a giant in a miniature land of adventure, hidden away in a 1930s timewarp. It’s a big day out full of really nice small things and we'd love to see you soon!

Went to this lovely model village yesterday on Mothering Sunday.Arrived just after 10 and parked in the car park near it.So much to see,worth going round twice incase you miss something.The details are amazing.Various moving models too as well as small trains chugging round and a bigger one to ride on.We should have gone on the train when we got there as long queues later on.Clean ,but small cafe,good for a break.
We so enjoyed our trip,and so did our children and grandchildren.Took pictures to remind us all of our trip

We spent about 3 hours here at this wonderful open air museum - admittedly the weather was lovely which greatly helped as you could wander at leisure amongst the rescued buildings (several of which have been used in TV series - eg the prefab in Call The Midwife).
There were a couple of school parties when we were there, and it was wonderful to see (and hear) how members of staff (from the museum I assume) brought history to life - so much more interesting than Reading about it in books!! There is also a play area for the children.
We took our two dogs, who, as directed were kept on short leads, and as the weather was so lovely we sat outside on the picnic benches in front of the tea room, and enjoyed some of their delicious sandwiches and a nice cup of tea! There was a water bowl for the dogs so they didn't miss out! The prices are very reasonable we thought, and, although we didn't partake, their cakes looked amazing!
There was even a wedding in one of the barns whilst we were there - which made our visit even more special!

We sell fresh draught beer to taste and take home. The fresh beer is dispensed into a Growler for you to enjoy anytime over the next couple of days. After purchase, rinse it out and bring it back to be filled up with more beer. Our beer range changes on a daily basis and we aim to have a style of beer to suit all tastes. We also sell a wide selection of bottled craft beer to take away.

For many a year I have been a Stella lager drinker. Several months ago on a visit to Bosham in Sussex down south I tried some locally produced brews. From then,because those local brews had flavour, I decided to expand my beer experiences. First came here a few weeks ago and became hooked to beer with taste. The staff have been attentive and knowledgable with recommendations and not condescending Great atmosphere, far more than the local pub.
My taste buds have been revived and reborn !!.

The Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium with the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world. Throughout, its Seating is big and soft. It has been called luxurious. It is better. It is civilized. It reminds us of what we have long stopped expecting from public buildings.

Visited and saw the three billboards outside ebbing Missouri (excellent film great choice). The venue is very cool and well maintained. There are seats with tables downstairs we were upstairs in the back row but the view was great. There is a bar serving drinks and nibbles at very reasonable prices. When booking on the day the tickets came avaliable I called many times and the line was engaged so I managed to book online eventually but seats went fast.

Delta Force Paintball in Hemel Hempstead is located in the Hertfordshire hills providing a perfect backdrop for a day of paintballing. The centre is located on an abandoned WW2 American Airforce base, meaning it has unlimited parking space on the massive main runway. The centre has managed to incorporate much of the old airbase's surviving infrastructure into it's base camp and 7 game zones, including villages, large Castles, helicopters and graveyards.

Second visit this year. Ages of small party is 11. A smaller group (4) is easier to manage (10) and included 100 paintballs, which lasted after being sensible!!! (Earlier in year we had 100 paintballs but we wasted alot shotting targets!!) A great time had by all!

This great little award-winning and family-friendly Museum contains two fun and fact-packed biographical galleries, the fantabulous interactive Story Centre and a sunny courtyard. Situated in Great Missenden where Roald Dahl lived for over 36 years, it was created as a home for the author’s archive (which visitors can see on our regular tours) and as a place to inspire creativity and a love of Reading in children, about which Roald Dahl was passionate.

We visited here today with two teenagers and two under 10’s.
Parking was ok. The car Park was described as ‘a couple of minutes walk away. But that’s up quite a steep hill which is a bit problematic for someone who can’t walk Very well. Our fault for not checking the lay of the land beforehand but would be handy to have added to the accessibility section of the website.
Once we were there, it was a lovely morning out. I thought the teens would be a bit bored but one was kept amused by the rhyming board and one was just impressed there was free WiFi! They are not the target audience though! The younger two really enjoyed it, especially the hands on gallery with the stop frame animation machine! That was a big hit! As a Roald Dahl fan, I loved the place!
The cafe was very small but we managed to fit six round a table for a drink. My Whizzpopper Hot Chocolate was delicious! I know there is a second Seating area for people, but the cafe itself is very cramped when you have mums with buggies and lots of people trying to get served, and only one way in and out! Could really do with a bigger serving area!
Overall, a lovely morning out. Pretty good value for money too (ended up costing us £13 for all six of us to get in as two of the kids have Blue Peter Badges!) Its not a massive museum but packs a lot in. And the staff were very friendly.

From booking to taking part, this has been a first class experience. My lovely hubby got us both vouchers for christmas 2016 but sadly he had to travel on the day we booked and thus needed to change my companion at the last minute, a quick phonecall to explain the situation and Chloe had it all dealt with.
I've never been on a cookery masterclass before so no expectations, but the bar has been set very high after today's experience.
A small group of strangers were welcomed and settled in with a choice of teas or coffee. The tutor for the day, Kumud, gave us lots of insight into why certain spices are used and highlighted the medicinal properties as well as culinary use.
We had the benefit of verbal, observational and hands on learning to ensure we could practice what we had learned. Some of the foods we cooked became our lunch, another dish was prepared by us as a takeaway.
The spices we used were available to purchase at a reasonable price and I took this as an opportunity to obtain 'the real things' as well as further supporting a business.
Kumud and her colleagues run many different courses both inhouse and as corporate events. I would highly recommend anyone with an interest in Indian cuisine to attend this half day course, and if the other courses are a patch on this one they will also be excellent.
