Amber Fort

The views looking up to the fort are breathtaking and the views from the fort down to the Gardens are also great.
There was a festival on when we visited so we had to go through a different entrance and there were crowds inside. But the fort is huge and we were still able to get around and see the magnificence of the place easily.

Elefantastic

Elefantastic Elephant Farm is a unique and inspiring experience that is a must do for anyone visiting India. Elefantastic Elephant Farm is owned and managed by a former Elephant Rider (Mahut), farm focusing on health-care and breeding management for friendly, beautiful and special elephants to produce healthy elephants to live on Earth. /., Although Elefantastic Elephant Farm was only born on 21st February 2012, my family's involvement with our elephants backdate to over 4 generations ago. Before Elefantastic Elephant Farm materialised, I was an elephant rider at amber palace for 9 years, providing riding tours for the many tourists that visited amber palace. Although I enjoyed being an elephant rider at amber palace & met many tourists, I couldn't help wanting something more meaningful, not for me, but for my elephants. Many of the tourists I met were interested in the day to day life of elephants and what I do with them, rather than just wanting an ordinary ride. As I pondered on the possible opportunities, I realized that I wanted to show people a more in depth insight into the lives of my elephants. There are vast misconceptions across India that animals - especially elephants - are very badly mistreated. I decided that I want to prove to people that this is not always the case and take a step forward in eradicating these misconceptions. This decision inspired me to start Elefantastic Elephant Farm, which gives an insight into the daily lives of our elephants. You will see that all of our elephants are well fed, with spacious rooms, attentive vet check ups every week to make sure they're all at the peak of their health, with loving and caring riders.

Went because we heard it's an ethical experience for learning how to interact to elephants. It seems they do treat them as such. But, remember we are not consistently there. At any rate, you interact with the elephants as they eat. You can help feed them. It's a very private experience -- only our family -- including my daughters ages 9 and 4 -- were there and they got to feed the elephants and pet them. They got to paint them too. Some reviews felt that was exploiting the elephants, but the elephants didn't seem to mind and it is a safe paint that you get to wash off as you give the elephants a bath. Perhaps it was not needed, you can refuse to do it. Some reviews felt the colors "stain" the elephants trunk -- that's not accurate. It's sort of hard to even paint there and if you look at elephants noses in this climate you will see similar color changes. Listen, it's always a dilemma to use animals for tourist purposes but we came away with a greater respect for elephants and really did feel they were being cared for. If the net effect is that people understand the beauty of elephants and that they should be protected then Elefantastic is a net good. My 9-yo said it "really was elefentastic!"

We had the most amazing afternoon here! Thank you so much Ankit for bringing us to your elephant village!!! We were not fond of taking the elephant ride at the fort like many others do, but we absolutely loved this relaxed afternoon of enjoying your elephants and feeding them, painting them and maybe ourselves at little too!!!! And getting to walk with the elephants!!! Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality and kindness to us during our visit, your knowledge you shared with us about your elephants was very much appreciated. Great value for money and would do it all again if only we had a longer stay! Next time perhaps.......we wish you all the best always and thank you again!

Located in the Amber Fort this is a stunning building with floors, walls and ceilings covered in small mirrors, mosaics and coloured glass. There is no access into the building so can only view through the open sides from around the perimeter. This does not however detract from the amazing interior. It forms part of the fort itself and therefore can get very busy so would advise arriving early.

An experience of a lifetime which we will never forget. It was a very special programme where we had a close interaction with the elephants. I never knew that elephants are so gentle and friendly creatures. For people who love animals this is the place where you can spend time in nature with the elephants. It was great to see how well elephants were treated, a village dedicated to the elephants of Jaipur and the facilities provided for their well being. The staff working there was just wonderful who were regularly providing refreshments and clicking photos. Overall it was a truly magical experience which is highly recommended and we feel lucky to spend time with the elephants :)

Jamil and his staff do an outstanding work with the elefants. Their place is not glamourous but no need. What you want is to enjoy the big animals and you really do, as you feed them, you can bodypaint them, you ride them (with no matress!) And you bath them.
The whole experience takes around 2 hours and can be done the same morning combined with the visit to the Amber Fort. It is not cheap for Indian standards (3,000 rupees per person, under 5 free) but it is worth every cent, as the experience is truly unique.
Jamil and the staff take care of the animals with love and they make you feel that same love. Really outstanding especially for kids.
Practical advice: if necessary they pick you up from hotel in Jaipur (included in the price).

Elefantasy

Without a doubt the Elefantasy is a MUST for visitors to Jaipur for a fun elephant safari and is the ONLY complete elephant experience in the world - making it truly unique. Get up close and personal with these incredible species in the beautiful surroundings and inside Amer town.Elephants can be seen immersing themselves in the park lake, in between riding, painting or other activities. Hand feed them, touch them, take photos with them, then learn more about the elephants ancestry and with the culture of Rajasthan.

This program gives a wonderful experience with these magnificent creatures. We really liked the opportunity to socialize with our elephant through the feeding and bathing. We would not ride an elephant down in the tourist areas of Jaipur because of concerns over the animals' welfare, but here the elephants here at Elefantastic seemed to be treated with great dignity and respect (it's a relief to know at least some of these wonderful creatures are being rehabilitated in such a place). My spouse chose to participate in the riding experience, although I preferred to just walk alongside.
The company also offers tours through Jaipur and other cities. We initially had one of their guides with us, but ultimately decided to not continue with the city tour following the elephant experience. We preferred a slower pace to look at the scenery and take photographs, and felt we were being herded along. The guide spoke very good English, but chose to speak in Hindi part of the time (only one of us understands that language). So after the experience with the elephants, we returned back to our hotel rather than resuming an evening city tour. Our driver was quite kind and helpful.
But to end on an upbeat note, the chance to interact face to face with an elephant is not to be missed. Highly recommended.
