Jardin Botanico Molino de Inca

Plenty of structure and trees to make this worth a 1-2 hour visit any time of year. Japanese garden was one of several highlights, with pool of terrapins. Several pens of caged birds (looks like the birds of prey get outdoor exercise via displays also)
In warmer weather, the views and colours would be even more impressive.
we found it tranquil, unhurried and the 1 Euro entry fee seriously undersells what is on offer. We took a taxi from centre of town for 7 Euros and walked back (approx. 15 minutes)

Jardin Oriental Bienquerido

The place is stunning, with oriental features like bamboo trees, pagoda and craps. It was inaugurated in 2011. Although it's before entering the town of Alhurin de la Torre, it's still part of the Alhurin council. The garden also includes a chiildren playground and outdoor gym area for adults. Walking upward to the end of the place find a Japanese garden. This was a Sunday. A family with children were playing in the playground area. There was another young couple. But when we came down, everyone was gone. So we did some exercise with the outdoor gym equipment in the adult ground and took some pictures in the carp pond. The garden is easily missed by drivers if you speed fast. We found it cause we drove pass this road twice a day. But come have a visit if next time you happen to be in Alhurin de la Torre. It's worth it.

If you are staying in the Benalmadena area & you have no problem with cable cars/ heights do not miss this attraction. Excellent from start to finish. The staff are very knowledgeable & the commentator/falconer is witty and entertaining, explaining everything in perfect English. We had a snack in the restaurant & we bought a souvenir photo (no pressure) & we didn't feel ripped off at all. Great value for money. Thanks to all staff. You are doing a great job of conserving & breeding such beautiful birds.

Lauro Golf

Lauro 27 Golf can be found in the middle of beautiful pure nature in spectacular surroundings. The course consists of 27 holes that can be played in three different combinations, all par 72. From the beginning the design and function of the course has been based on respecting the nature and the environment that surrounds it by not only saving and caring for the already existing trees but also by planting thousands of new trees, most of them indigenous Andalusian species. In Lauro Golf the nature is everywhere. Within the whole complex the direct contact with the nature is constant and whether you are playing golf, living in the residences or just enjoying a stroll in the surroundings you can see that we are not the only visitors at Lauro Golf. You can often see rabbits, ducks, partridges, herons and even eagles on and around the golf course, our friendly neighbours who are enjoying the micro-climate of the course created by the thousands of trees and the fourteen lakes of the golf c

Tonight we have been eating at Lauro Golf Alhaurien. That was a big mistake and a total disaster. De food that they are serving is not even good enough for your dogs. Potato croquettes were baked in oil from the beginning of 1800, 90% of the salad was not fresh and came out of can, the garlic bread was terrible and the salmon in the spaghetti was not even found with a magnifying glass. You have ben warned.

If you want to get away from the largely modern coastline with high rise apartment blocks and hotels to a more traditional Spanish environment, then make sure you visit the Pueblo. Largely intact as a traditional Andalusian village, it has a surprisingly high number of very good restaurants and cafes. And the views from the high point of the church are fabulous.

This long Promenade stretches all the way along the beach with plenty of bars and cafes to rest your weary legs. Visited mid February and it was a very pleasant stroll but guess it’s probably too hot during the day mid summer. Numerous hotels and holiday apartments rise along the road opposite. We walked to the prom from Calle San Miguel which is the main tourist area on the hill above and took the lift back up! Have to say the Promenade is starting to look dated but if you look beyond that then you won’t be disappointed.
