Noosa National Park

Reviewed By sundaysap - Sydney, Australia

While visiting Noosa twice last year in January and June I did a lot of bushwalking through their pristine National Park. We have quite a few National Parks here in NSW but none of them compare to this stunning treasure. They were updating the walkways into the National Park when I was there in June last year, but I personally found their walkways were well maintained when I was there previously in January 2018. There is wheel chair access for the disabled and also well paved walking track for families with young children with prams and also the elderly. The best part of this pristine National Park walk are the beaches you come across on your way up which are Tea Tree Bay, Granite Bay and further into the National Park (depends on your fitness level) is the beautiful Alexandria Bay. And before you venture into this beautiful National Park make sure you stop into the Kiosk located at the information centre within the National Park, they make the best coffee ???? I have tasted in Noosa. Seriously a great pick me up for your long walk up into this pristine treasure. Absolutely loved it.

Australia Zoo

Wildlife in this popular zoo was captured by Australia's famous "Crocodile Hunter," a legendary herpetologist excelling in snake and crocodile capture techniques.

What a day at the zoo! My wife and I wanted to have a really special experience at the Australia Zoo so we sprung for the Aussie Animals private tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and informative. As we were shuttled to each location we were met with friendly staff and wonderful surprises. We chose to customize our tour a bit and decided to go with the Koala experience instead of the photo only. I highly recommend the experience, to hold the Koala and get some one on one time with the keeper was great. We had a full day at the zoo... from the Kangaroo to the echidna we didn’t meet an animal that didn’t live up to the hype. As a long time fan of Steve Irwin and the Crocodile Hunter show the Australia Zoo has preserved his memory and honored his life through wildlife conservation. The Crocoseum show intro was emotion as well as inspiring while talking me back in time to when I used to watch the Croc hunter diaries... all and all I can’t say enough about the zoo, the staff and they’re continuing goal for wildlife protection and conservation. I will go back some day!

Lake Weyba

Beautiful lake, like a hidden treasure. We stayed in Peregian Beach, at Lake Weyba Noosa Lodge. Lots of kangaroos, cockatoos while taking a walk to Lake Weyba. Very shallow, clear, warm water; it feels like a big bathtub! Our accommodation provided a two-person canoe and two kayaks for free. There is a hidden creek, hard to describe, like a real-life wald-Disney experience, really serene and beautiful. What makes this also special that there are almost no other people because of minimal access. Highly recommend staying at the lodge and get back to nature.

Renowned for our locally handmade artisan treasures, there's no other market quite like it. We're open rain hail or shine every Wednesday & Saturday.

The Eumundi Market is huge with a really varied range We visited on a Wednesday. The parking was reasonable at only $6; it’s free if you are lucky enough to find a space on the street Purchases included a wooden bow-tie; a hat; jewellery; some hand painted scenes; and a heap of food - fudge, crepes; Thai street food and German sausage The range is vast. The stores well arranged. The setting is shaded by trees. Toilets are abundant. The people are friendly. The stakeholders never pushy. Even dogs are welcome A very chilled place and great market to spend a morning wandering. Best market I have visited

Queensland Air Museum located on Caloundra Airfield, is best described as a time walk back in Australia’s aviation history. An outstanding collection of both civilian and military aircraft are spaciously exhibited within two hangars making self guided tours of the museum very easy. There is also the offer of guided tours conducted by dedicated museum staff members. Within these hangars can be found the icons of high speed flight, the General Dynamics F111 and Dassault Mirage 111. Representation of early and low speed flight, the Victa 115 Airtourior and DH 82 Tiger Moth sit amongst their high speed siblings as if waiting for any chance to defy gravity and go flying once more. These aircraft are but only a few of those on display indoors. Venturing outdoors are found standing proud as they await their turn for total restoration fine examples of ubiquitous aircraft of the Australian skies, the Caribou along with the Fokker Friendship F27 amongst many more aircraft . Queensland Air Museum with all of its wonderful aircraft collection and of aviation support paraphernalia such as one 4 wheeled boogie from the ‘Queen of the Skies’, the Boeing 747 is certainly a rewarding time walk back into Australia’s aviation history. And of course all this began with Wilbur and Orville Wright back in 1903.

Maroochydore Beach

Reviewed By 993anitat - Forster, Australia

We have been to Maroochydore Beach before when the surf was pounding. On this occasion the Westerly winds had made the sea very calm. Even though it was May the water was still quite warm. We had fun watching a couple of guys surfing on the hydrofoil sups. The beach is patrolled and has great views to the North and South. We were staying at the nearby Cotton Tree Caravan Park so I got up at dawn and watched the beautiful sunrise over the ocean and had a walk along the beach. Great Spot!
