Platanias (Greek: Πλατανιάς) is a village and municipality on the Greek island of Crete. It is located about 10 km (6.2 mi) west from the city of Chania and east of Kastelli-Kissamos, on Chania Bay. The seat of the municipality is the village Gerani. Platanias is a popular tourism village with a beach, several hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops. Not far from the coast is the island of Agioi Theodoroi.

One of my favorite places on Crete. Beautiful surroundings and a beautiful yard in the cafe. Great for kids as there was a lot of toys. Staff was very nice. Very recommended.

Recommend for families.... Our girls aged 5 and 9 wanted a short ride. We arranged via internet and it was all very easy. We arrived at stables and were made to feel very welcome. The girls got to meet all the horses and rode Margarita. My 5 year old was nervous, but the girl was so kind and patient and helped her to master the reins. Beautiful stables, horses so well looked after and lovely mountain setting. Thank you, if we come back to Crete we will do a longer ride, but recommend this for young children to try riding as well.

Local world war 2 musuem focused on the historical events that occured during the battle of Crete and more. Please note that the museum is now closed until further notice. Due to covid protocol we are not able to open the tunnels at this time, the museum is run by volunteers and we will reopen as soon as it is deemed safe.

Excellent service from Taxis in Chania when my husband dropped his wallet accidentally in the back of a taxi. 3 hours later the wallet was found and returned with everything intact toour hotel! Totally amazing and credit to the taxi srvice in Chania.

Only 3 Euros to visit this lovely building with it's fascinating museum. I would have liked to see a Service listing in English to experience an Orthodox Service. However we were able to wander around and enjoy the ambiance! The Video is well worth watching, it explains the history of the Monastery and the importance of the Orthodox Church in the history of Crete, especially during times of occupation.
