Amazing collection, with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff and great opportunities for volunteers (young and old), to high-light this gem of a collection. I thoroughly enjoyed my few hours there and wish I was closer, as I'd be there volunteering too. Keep coming back as there is always something new and interesting to see - and the standard of restoration is top notch and a credit to high calibre of the team there, and giving youngsters many opportunities to help out and build those all important life skills. Please pass the word around and support this wonderful charity.and visit it soon.

Spent the morning here for my sons 9th birthday party. Even thought storm Denis was in full flow, it didn’t dampen the part mood. Activities included quad bike riding, disco bouncy castle, reptile handling, barrel rides followed by delicious food. Brian and the team could not have been more helpful - everything we needed (including candles for the cake) wasn’t a problem. Brian and his young assistant were amazing with the kids and ensured the boys and girls were kept well entertained. Couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough. Such great value for money. Can’t wait to visit again. The beautiful barn tea room is a great wee spot for a cuppa whilst the kids are enjoying the activities. Fun for all the family. ????????????????

Island Arts Centre

Reviewed By OrangeLisburn - Lisburn, United Kingdom

Situated on Lagan Valey Island, adjoining Lisburn Civic Centre - The Island Arts Centre is a fantastic facility - serving the population of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council. It publishes brochures every three months or so and caters for conferences, theatre, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, pantomimes, courses, workshops and "the Arts". Site tours for large and small groups can be arranged but must be booked in advance. It is only a short distance from the M1 Motorway and has 300 free parking places. Train and bus stations are within walking distance. The Civic Centre no longer has a restaurant but can cater for banquets and weddings and has an on-site coffee shop. It has good facilities for those with mobility problems - and has free wi-fi. Prices, and "pensioner/children concessions" vary, depending on the activity. I enjoyed a tour around the Centre this morning - and was particularly impressed by the tiered theatres. Highly recommended. (Box Office T/N 028 9244 7744). Web. ISLANDArtsCentre.com
