1 hour Daintree River wildlife and crocodile cruise on the only solar electric boat on the Daintree river. The boat it is nice and quiet and there are no petrol fumes or exhaust , it is also good for getting close to the wildlife without disturbing it. We aim to treat this fragile ecosystem with respect and have minimal impact, our boat does not create a wake so we do not erode the mangroves. We are the only boat with "Croc Cam"; a digital video with a very good zoom for showing hard to see animals on a big screen. Wildlife includes Salt Water Crocodiles, snakes, frogs, and birds and also interpretation of the mangrove environment. The buisness is locally family owned and operated and has been going for 16 years. We offer a unique experience with minimal impact see, hear and smell nature at its best nature eco experience. We also offer longer two , three hour cruises by bookings only, maximum 10 people great for photography for those that want a longer more personalised tour.

Dan Irby's Mangrove Adventures

Very personal (max. 10) nature-based Daintree River tour. Experienced, friendly and science-based information. We think the tour when on a small boat is so much better than tours on the other larger 20, 24, 30-50 seat boats that also tour the river. (Doing usual their usual one-hour croc-spotting tours while sitting shoulder to shoulder on hard bench seats). (On some boats the people are all sitting facing toward the inside of the boat). We go for longer tours (minimum two hours) and go places where many boats can't go because they are limited by time and their larger boat sizes. We get to see many magical places that they they can't. Several times over the years people have told me that their Mangrove Adventures tour was the highlight of their Australian vacation. "The Nightwatchman" is a small 6 metre, open-topped, punt with 10 comfortable swivel seats. Powered by quiet 60 hp 4-stroke outboard motor. And we don't offer any other marketing gimmicks other just passion and careing.
