Mercado Ingeniero Torroja

My wife and I recently spent a few days in Algeciras, Spain and visited the Historic District for lunch and sightseeing. We took the #3 bus from the Hotel Alboran where we stayed (beautiful hotel ) and spent the entire day sightseeing the area. There were many restaurants, cafes, shops, parks, and things to do. We wondered into the Mercado Ingeniero Torroja and were pleasantly surprised by all of the street vendors outside the Mercado building but by the shops inside it too. There were butchers, bakers, fisherman, farmers...etc....A real nice mixture of vendors. The Mercado Ingeniero Torroja was a great find in the Historic District of Algeciras.

Bahia Park

Booked here for sons 10th Birthday went with my family four of us son 10 and daughter 12. We got there about 11:30 ono day morning and got parked close to the entrance. We booked our tickets online so was in quickly, there was about 50 people queuing to buy tickets on the morning. Once in we went to rent rings and get a locker ( so we could all go on the rides together and our valuables would be safe) this took longer than I thought it should but no big deal. It is well worth renting rings for a small price than having to wait for communal rings to become free. Once in the park it was about a quarter full with plenty of sunbeds available ( at a cost 6 euro for all day) and there was plenty of availablity all day. There is a nice selection of rides but anyone looking for an extreme water experience will be disappointed this park is firmly aimed at families. My kids loved all the slides , although there is one that has a 1.5m height restriction. This was annoying bad we were there for my son's birthday and he is about 1.48 m and they turned him away. There was never more than 5-10 minutes wait for any slide and queue etiquette was adhered to. Food was nice and in my opinion well priced for a place like this we had hot dogs chips and pizza and all was very good standard and size. Nothing really negative to say at all park was very clean and well maintained. My only point would be ( and this is nothing to do with the park directly) is that most if the time you need to be in bare feet as you are walking to from or queuing for ride, most if the park is tiled and by the afternoon the floors are very hot so walking about on it is a challenge ! At one point we found ourselves hopping from one foot to the other whist queuing for one of the slides. Some people had water shoes on so that may be a solution. But overall highly recommend firva family day out...as my son put it as we left " best birthday ever" .

Sendero Rio de la Miel

Reviewed By elkebaby - Gibraltar, null

You’d think from the picture that this place is hard to get to but it isn’t whatsoever. From parking car to reaching destination is an easy 20-30 minute walk along the countryside. There are 3 natural pools, the second is the most beautiful in my opinion which is the one in picture. There is a natural well where you can fill up water bottles and comfortable shoes are recommended, especially if you want to go to the third pool which requires a bit of climbing on rocks (not difficult). This tends to get packed on sunny days and on weekends even more so! Recommendation would be to go around 5pm when the sun is dying down (my favourite time to go) or early in the morning.
