Top 10 Things to do Good for Couples in Krabi Town, Krabi Province

October 3, 2021 Emerita Lamoureux

The southern Thailand town of Krabi serves as base camp for exploring the province of the same name, a lush region of jungles, limestone cliffs and idyllic isles floating just offshore in the Andaman Sea. Buddhist shrines still used by local monks are tucked into the chambers of the town's top attraction, Tiger Cave. The riverside pier links travelers with ferries and longboats to the best scuba diving, rock climbing and white sand beaches on the coast.

Me and a friend attended the may thai class the first two weeks of May in 2018. Having had kickboxing training experience back in Germany we can highly recommend the Chalamkaw muay thai gym for everyone who visits Krabi. It is located about a 5-10 minute walk from the klong muong beach. We had our stay at the beautiful Dusit Thani resort and walked to the classes. The coaches are highly skilled, very patient and have a great sense of humor. We had no problems communicating with the coaches in English. Although the training sessions can be quite tough there is always time to have a laugh and we had a lot of fun. The coaches are always pushing to get you better and to your limits and even beyond. We were also able to spend some of our free time with the coaches in the evening as they were kind enough to invite us (bbq, playing pool, bar). All in all we had a great time and experience at Chalamkaw. We learned a lot in such a short period of time. We would definitely revisit the gym!

Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea)

This temple complex not only serves as a religious site for the monks who live and worship there, but also features a maze of natural caves in an overgrown jungle valley where stone tools, pottery remains and the mold for making Buddha footprints have been excavated.

What a physical exercise that ended with stunning views at the top of tiger cave mountain. About 1260 steep steps, equivalent of 300m height or 600m walk, this activity is definitely recommended for those who are looking for strenuous activity in Krabi. Definitely recommend but be ready for sweaty evening. Start at 5pm and be there by 6pm to get a clear sunset view. Carry plenty of water to stay hydrated but you will get filtered cold water tap at the top of the hill. People bring drones as well for a clear sky experience. We thoroughly enjoyed this and would do it again next time we are in Krabi.

Hong Islands

Reviewed By maztUk

Visited on Sunday January 2019 from long muang beach (we stayed at sofitel krabi). WHAT WE DID: went via private long tail boat to Koh pak Bia, La ding island and then Hong island itself (2500 bhat and extra 200 addes as we asked for food which helped us!) we opted for this as it gave us flexibility for which order we wanted to go to the islands and I wanted to be at hing island when there were few people. we left at 10am - 40 mins to pak bia- beautiful we were one if the first ones there which was great. La ding was then packed busy so we skipped it ! got to hong island at 12:30. had lunch then went to the lagoon and then to hong island itself. At 2:45-3pm most people had left and the place was a lot quieter so fantastic to enjoy! the water was turquoise, pretty clear but I wouldn't say snorkel worthy. pure white sand beach. nature trail to enjoy too TIPS: -go private boat if you want to enjoy it for peace and quiet and go either first thing in the morning or aim to be there around 2-4pm -take lunch and drinks. there is a restaurant though -do the nature trail! just a lovely peaceful walk on forest path. we didn't have time to go all the way so did a little bit then came back -RELAX! Pros: beautiful stunning beach and lagoon, Cons: nothing.

PhraNang Cave Beach

Reviewed By peterz671

Phra Nang cave beach, is breathtaking! Depending on your route, you can go to railay beach west and walk through to railay beach east, and on through the caves to Phra Nang, the journey to Phra Nang is absolutely beautiful, you will likely see some wildlife along the way and there is even a slight rock climb (rope assisted) up to a viewpoint, unfortunately I didn't get to the viewpoint, but imagine its unbelievable once you get to the top. There are shops in the little resort style town on the way through where you can grab cold beverages of any sort, and snacks, and enjoy them along your walk. You will suddenly come out of the half caved walkway into pure paradise, several hundred metre tall karst formations with vegetation and birds flying to and from their nests, there is a decent size section if water ropes off for swimmers where there is no boat access for when the 40°C heat becomes too much and your forced to enter the tropical, fish filled waters. This beach I would recommend before all others at least to see once!

We went to Ao Tha Lane twice. One in day time for kayaking and swimming. Tide was high and very good for kayaking; and the other during sunset - tide was very low but we got to see sunset.
