Gipuzkoa (in Basque and also the official form since 2011, [ɡipus̻ko.a]; in Spanish: Guipúzcoa [ɡiˈpuθko.a] is a province of Spain and a historical territory of the autonomous community of the Basque Country. Its capital city is Donostia-San Sebastián. Gipuzkoa shares borders with the French department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques at the northeast, with the province and autonomous community of Navarre at east, Biscay at west, Álava at southwest and the Bay of Biscay to its north. It is located at the easternmost extreme of the Cantabric Sea, in the Bay of Biscay. It has 66 kilometres (41 miles) of coast land.

At Gaintza we take great pride in receiving guests. During our guided tours, the visitor will learn about the history and tradition of local txakolina wines. We start the visit by observing how this tradition has formed the actual landscape, then our visitors will be able to visit the winery, or "bodega". The visit finishes with a wine tasting session where our visitors can taste and learn about the 3 wines we produce at Gaintza, the traditional txakolina, our rosé and our special Aitako wine. We arranged a tour at the last minute through our hotel which was a short but very uphill walk away. The tour consisted of an explanation of the growing process of the grapes then an indoor tour of the processing of the grapes to the bottling plant and then finally a fabulous tasting with some lovely anchovies ,bread and olives and three different varieties of txakoli . The tour was made very special as there was only one other couple with us which meant it was very personal and also the guide was extremely knowledgeable and also answered all our questions.

Highly recommend this if visiting the San Sebastian area. It's a nice walk to the top with superb views across both sides of San Sebastian. Overall walk takes maybe an hour from top to bottom at a leisurely pace. Take some water if the weather is warm as it can be tough is some parts

We had no idea this lovely place was here and just lucked upon it when looking for something to do in Azpeitia. The towered house is the birthplace of Saint Ignacio de Loyola in 1491 and the adjacent sanctuary, a round basilica, very impressive was built over a century later.

Immerse on a small town near SAN sebastian you will find this incredible place which recognizes the career amor one of the most important fashion designers in the history of modern fashion. The museum by itself is a place that will catch your eye in the middle of a small fishermans town.

We had a lovely time walking around the museum and really enjoyed the Temporary Exhibition of Sandro Miller, Malkovich, Homage to Photographic Masters which is on in November. Every Tuesday the museum has free entry.
