Vinicola Hacienda del Marques

Reviewed By Bagie - Vancouver, Canada

I took the tour with the horse carriage. Just lovely! I joined a group of friends with kids. The tour lasted 2 hours. It included a tour through the pecan farm and the winery. In COVID times, I find these tours to be very appropriate. No crowds... We got off the carriage to walk through the winery and listen to our tour guide. We tasted their award winning wines with cheeses and charcuterie. We’re able to participate in the harvest. Shiraz is the main grape there! Many Mexicans were used to travel north of Parras to USA - mainly shopping. With all the travel restrictions, doing road trips within México has become a trend. We even saw a deer, enjoying the delicious grapes. So inexpensive compared to my trips to wineries in The Okanagan. Both SPECTACULAR ????????✅

Museo del Desierto

This museum has a combination of fossils exhibits, live animals, educational videos, and natural science facts with uncomplicated explanations. People of all ages can enjoy a visit of this museum and learn about fossils found in Mexico, climate facts and how the different deserts are found around the globe as well as their respective plants and fauna. A small collection of live animals, great exhibits of serpents, and nice collection of cactus and other desert plants. The only downside in my opinion is separate the cost of the parking and the entrances, but it is worth it the prices. At the end, you leave the place with a significant knowledge of prehistoric era, deserts, animals and plants habitats from some arid areas of Mexico. It also makes you conscious of the ambient and the consequences of the human negligence.

Museo Arocena

Reviewed By RaphaelTobias - Herefordshire, United Kingdom

I visited friends at Torreon in October/November 2017. I had not expected to find the museums and theatres, which are truly centres with a high standard of culture both in art and music as well as in history and archeology. The Museo Arocena is a modern, purpose-built museum with something for everyone: a fine collection of paintings and all the history and geography you would want to know about Torreon and Mexico in general. When I visited there was also an exhibition of photographs of 21st Century Mexican enclosed nuns, quite breathtaking. I would highly recommend a visit.
