Outback Hell was really well put together and very tricky. We needed an extra 5 minutes to escape. Entirely suitable for 11 and 14 year olds - for those who like to think - a great team experience on a rainy day.

Caloundra Surf School

Surfing is just about the best fun under the sun! And Caloundra Surf School will help you to enjoy the thrill of surfing! The best way to learn to surf is to have a surf lesson with the premier surf school on the Sunshine Coast! We take great pride in providing a fantastic service to our students, so that you have the best possible surfing experience! Suitable for all ages, shapes & sizes! And don't worry - most of my students have never surfed before! It's also important to have your lesson on the best possible waves for learning to surf - this makes a huge difference in helping a new surfer do well and have the most fun! I have the exclusive Council permits to provide surf lessons at the 3 best beaches around Caloundra so I can take my classes to the best location. There are Google Maps of all these locations are on my website. I plan the lesson when we will get the best waves, so the time of our class will depend upon the conditions & vary from day to day. Bulcock Beach

Reviewed By WorldTravla7 - Cairns, Australia

Bulcock Beach is a gorgeous, picturesque & protected beach backing onto Pumicstone Passage and perfect for a chilled out swim. There are no waves to speak of but you can walk 5 minutes up to Happy Valley or further up to Kings Beach if surfing is what you’re after. Otherwise just treat it as a refreshing saltwater lake. Bulcock is set against the backdrop of the Glasshouse Mountains, which can be seen in the distance. There are also plenty of cafes & restaurants across the road as well as the famous coastal boardwalk which offers world class ocean views.

Dicky Beach

Reviewed By umidowell - Narangba, Australia

Although you can’t take your dog onto the main part of Dicky Beach, there is an amazing off leash dog beach just a couple hundred meters further along! We took our family dog on his first holiday to Caloundra and looked around for an off leash dog beach - this one was amazing! Lots of friendly dogs for him to socialize with and run around with. Off the beach you needs to put your dog back on leash, there’s a water bowl and a dog wash station too. The surf was a bit too hectic for our little fella but he still loved the opportunity to run around with a bunch of other dogs in the sea air. ???????????? ????

Caloundra Lighthouses

For a fun and interesting family outing you can’t go past a visit the Caloundra Lighthouses at Canberra Tce, Caloundra. They are open every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, 9:00am - 3:00pm. You can climb both lighthouses, but the 1896 structure is not for the feint hearted. Both offer spectacular ocean views, and you can see the ships rounding the marker, and entering Moreton Bay with the sand cliffs of Moreton Island behind. Look the other way and the Glass House Mountains are laid out before you. Learn about Caloundra’s history and the lighthouses. The experience is a very reasonable $5.00 entry for adults, with children free. When the flag is flying they are open . Booked tours can be arranged, $5.00 entry for adults, minimum $40.

Only cost $2, volunteer staff very knowledgeable on the areas history and the lighthouses.the original lighthouse is and experience to climb up inside, but the view is great, 360 digree. The newer lighthouse is easy to walk up, higher than original much better views of Glasshouse Mtns, Bribie Island, Moreton island and Caloundra coast line. If you get the opportunity do it.

Moffat Beach

Reviewed By CoffeeChill - Sunshine Coast, Australia

Just marvelous for experienced surfers, is one Moffat Beach, Caloundra on the super Sunshine Coast. It is a compact piece of sand, in particular at high tide, but there is plenty of adjoining green space where one can sit and or exercise. I often visit to check out the surfing action, as well as indulge in a morning brew at one of several excellent cafes in the area.
