Top 10 Things to do Good for a Rainy Day in Provincetown, Massachusetts (MA)

July 7, 2021 Venice Greaves

Visit Provincetown and have a blast enjoying some of Cape Cod’s best beaches (Race Point Beach and Herring Cove Beach are favorites of TripAdvisor travelers). Plenty of cool boutiques, restaurants and art galleries give this town a fun and funky vibe. It’s an exceptionally LGBT-friendly destination as well. One tip: if it’s high season, take the ferry or a quick flight from Boston (unless you enjoy spending hours sitting in traffic).

I absolutely love Rice Polak and its owner, Marla Rice. It is among the first places I go every summer when I get to Provincetown. Marla curates the most interesting collection of artists and in my many years of visiting Ptown, I have never failed to buy a piece of art from her. From Bradshaw to Arvidson to Mirabelli, I feel like my home has become a Washington outpost for Rice Polak - and I love it. Marla herself is reason enough to visit the gallery. She is absolutely delightful - personable, charming, knowledgeable, and never pushy. Rice Polak is always my gallery of choice and I highly recommend a stop there as part of anyone's visit to Provincetown. And be sure to visit the upstairs and explore the stacks - always filled with hidden gems.

This was HANDS DOWN the absolute BEST massage I have ever received. Jay did an amazing job to create a relaxing, calm, and (most importantly in the COVID-19 world) sanitary environment. I tend to have lower back tightness, which I explained prior to my massage. Jay did a perfect job focusing on my lower back and core, and I have been without pain for going on 3 days now. What I forgot to mention before my massage, however, was that I recently tweaked my left shoulder doing some physical activity, and have had some pain moving that arm. I know this sounds farfetched, but I think Jay must have sensed that there was something wrong with my shoulder, because he also ended up spending a lot of time on specifically my left shoulder. AND as soon as we wrapped up, I noticed that the pain from my injury had almost completely gone away! If you are in the area, I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough!

We have come to the Shui Spa every year (for the past 4 years have stayed at the Hotel) and I do have to say they stepped it up to another level this year! They are super clean and follow the COVID protocol very well. I had a blissful couples massage with my husband and had Matthew as my therapist. He had a great vibe and knew the exact pressure to give almost, he seemed to connect telepathically somehow, was very interesting and because of this, I would highly recommend him! My husband had Peter and truly enjoyed the techniques. His stress and tension levels surely were managed properly and felt ten fold better afterwards. I loved the massage so much I returned a few days later after beings sore from hiking and requested Matt again. This time for the restorative and it worked like a charm- i felt happy and no soreness after this massage! The massage was followed up with a high grade facial with Joseph who was a pro with the extractions and left my skin so smooth afterwards! The services were worth it and fantastic. I was on cloud 9 this trip!!
