This private museum is a real find! A fantastic collection of objects and machines from 1850-1960, domestic, agricultural and industrial, (including an amazing collection of real fire-engines), it offers an intriguing insight into how past generations lived, with something for all ages! Well organised, friendly and informative. Don't miss it when you come to Uzes! If taking the children to Haribo, give them a dose of culture too!

Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon

The pontifical Carthusian monastery of the Val-de-Bénédiction was founded in the 14th century by Pope Innocent VI. The frescoes of the Saint John Baptist's Chapel were painted by Matteo Giovanetti, who created the frescoes in Avignon Palace. The three cloisters, surrounded by forty cells and gardens, made it one of the largest Carthusian monstery in France.

The best food of Nîmes is to found, bought and eaten from here! Dream of living the French lifestyle? Your heaven is here! We LOVE this indoor market - which offers local delicacies from fruit, cheese, breads, meats and seafoods, and even local olive oils (which we bought!) There’s even a little cafe located within the market that appears to be popular with the locals!

Grotte de la Salamandre

Welcome to the Kingdom of the Giants of Cristal. Come and enjoy four possible ways to visit the cave: the wheelchair-accessible lookout point, the fascinating guided tour, the Grand Rappel (50m abseiling), and the "Backstage of the Grotte de la Salamandre" (caving in the hidden galleries). On each of the visits, one will discover an enormous cave full of crystals staged with lighting and sound effects. On the outside, a beautifully designed wooden structure houses both a boutique selling original articles and a cafe that opens out onto a terrace where one can enjoy delicious products while taking in a spectacular view of a nature reserve. New in 2017: an adventure course secured by nets which allows to let the children evolve in complete autonomy and in total safety!
