College of the Ozarks

College of the Ozarks, known as "Hard Work U," is more than a college. It's a destination with tons of family-friendly activities, including two museums, an old-fashioned grist mill, fruitcake and jelly kitchen, stained glass studio, and exquisite 4-star dining at Dobyns Dining Room in The Keeter Center. It's a great way to spend a day while you are in the Branson area. The only thing that requires admission is the Ralph Foster Museum ($6 Adults, $5 Seniors, and Free to all 18 and under). Dobyns Dining Room offers a farm to table experience without breaking the bank. Come learn why this unique college is nationally known.

Here your self guided tour starts with a stop at the Public Relations office. They will explain the grounds to you and point out places to stop and see. They also provide you with a CD to put in your car that explains areas on campus, maps, and information brochures on the college. Located across the parking lot is the Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. Driving into campus you can also see Edwards Mill, Lake Honor, Stained Glass and Candle Shop, Hoge Greenhouses, Gaetz Tractor Museum, Williams Memorial Chapel, Fruit and Jelly Kitchen, 9/11 Memorial, Ralph Foster Museum, Point Lookout, the College Creamery, and more!! We spent a good portion of our day here, including an AMAZING meal at the Keeter Center. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to get in and out of the car often. Students work in all of the buildings are are eager to explain their work to you. Everyone was extremely friendly. There was plenty of parking at all locations. Everything was free to do except the Ralph Foster Museum which charges $6.00 for adults. High School age and under are free.

The variety of music was amazing, and so was the whole show, but the patriotic finale was truly once-in-a-lifetime. I absolutely LOVED Clay's tribute to all who serve, the original song by Clay and his wife Tina, and most of all the Pledge of Allegiance being recited by Clay's son, along with their wonderful story about how in his son's school, they take turns reciting the Pledge every day, and a different student gets to recite the Pledge over the intercom each day. If all schools and performers got kids this excited about faith and loving their country, this country and the whole world would be a much, much better place. God Bless Clay and the entire Cooper family. I truly can't thank you all enough.

We love to go to Dave & Busters so this was a no brainer for our family. In my opinion, Arcade City blew D&B out of the water! They’re pumping in a cotton candy smell that is wonderful and not too overpowering. The games are very unique twists on old classics. We all enjoyed the bean bag toss, the cruiser car race game, and Pac Man air hockey. For a $50 card, we received 65 tokens and each game is one or two tokens (with most being one). We played for an hour and a half and earned 925 tickets.. Each of our four kids (age 8-15) were able to get several good prizes and we all had a fun time!

My family which consists of my wife and I and my 3 children, 26, 20 and 18 attended the Presley's Country Jubilee in late May. We loved it. All of us. Keep in mind I drove 9 hours in a car with my kids listening to their music. None of us are Country music fans. Yet, when the vacation was over, we all agreed this was the most fun we had ever had in 5 trips to Branson, I would highly recommend going to families of all ages, Great music, awesome talent and tons of laughs worked in.

Marvel Cave

A highlight of the Silver Dollar City theme park, this constantly evolving wet limestone cave under the Ozark Mountains, dating back to the 1500s, provides a one-hour tour of fascinating rooms and passageways. The cave's entryway is the largest in the U.S.

This was a nice cave to tour! It does have a lot of steps and some places you need to duck down but the tour guides are very upfront about this when explaining the tour! Our 10 yr old had no problems with it and neither did we. We enjoyed seeing all the formations and our guide Michael was fun and informative.
