Heritage Golf Club had recently hosted the Afrasia Open Golf Tournament. But that aside we have played the course on many other occasions over the last few years and it has always been it tip-top condition. Fairways are immaculate and greens similarly. The rough is pretty friendly but don't stray into the long grass as you can say goodbye to your ball!!!!! It is a challenging course from the Blue Tees and Red Tees and course management is essential. Buggies and pull carts available and a good length driving range. There is a teaching-Pro for lessons. I had the privilege to play from the Tournament Tees (6100 metres plus) with a European Tour Pro and that is difficult and long for the average length player. The greens are very undulating and tricky to read and knowing which way the 'grain' lies is a help. The General Manager and his Green Staff do a great job in maintaining the high standard. Great staff who are always friendly and helpful. The Proshop carries some very nice lines in clothing and is priced similarly to Proshops at up-market courses elsewhere. Always an absolute pleasure to play Heritage and we will be back for 2 weeks in December.

We’re a bold bunch of riders, explorers & hard-core thrill seekers that bring it. We are situated at the “Andrea Lodges” on the beautiful south coast of Mauritius. Our rides make you see the back-country of Mauritius from the seat of an All Terrain Vehicle. Quads allow access to places where few people go. In fact, these sure-footed machines can take you to places that even horses fear to tread! You are just a phone call away from an adrenaline packed fun day. So? What are you waiting for?

The mountainous topography of Heritage Nature Reserve (ex Frederica Nature Reserve) offers breath taking views, vast plains where stags parade majestically, impressive waterfalls and intact natural beauty. The scenery is overwhelming and can be discovered through several activities: quad biking, buggy, safari 4x4 and trekking. We have two sessions per day: Morning 9h00 Afternoon 13h00
We visited HNR as a family of four for the Eco Buggy tour, using two buggies. Our guide Jerome was friendly, very knowledgeable and informative, leading us and another family who were on quad bikes on this excellent tour. We saw deer, wild boar, fruit bats and interesting termite colonies, before visiting the waterfall. The water was very muddy, presumably due to the heavy overnight rain, but the location was idyllic. The buggies were great fun to drive, particularly in the muddy areas, and our younger son (14) is insistent that we must return when he is old enough (16) to drive one. We booked online the day before our visit and intended to get a taxi from our hotel, which was only a couple of miles away, but we didn't want to walk along the busy road. The hotel receptionist advised we wouldn't need a taxi and rang HMR, who sent a mini-bus to pick us up and also brought us back again, free of charge. Lovely service from the whole team at HNR.

How about discovering the authenticity of Mauritius Island to the pleasant rhythm of the electro-bike (Electrically assisted cycles)? Far from the touristic routes, we interact with Mauritians, artisans,... We enjoy a little pause to taste their culinary specialties, before resuming our ride through the undergrowth, along the coastal roads while in search of magnificent panoramic views.

La Vanille Nature Park is an idyllic and stunning park of lush tropical vegetation covering 3.5 hectares. Enjoy the unforgettable experience of walking amongst the largest group of captive-bred giant Aldabra tortoises in the world. We have more than 1000 tortoises in the park, in addition to 2000 Nile Crocodiles as well as a variety of other animals such as monkeys, iguanas, bats, deer, geckos, eels, wild boar and more... You can also visit our Insectarium with more than 23,000 specimens, an aquarium and fossil museum. New at La Vanille: A petting farm, pony rides. Our guides and animators will fill your visit with intense memories.
My children were very excited and happy of their visit at the park. We were impressed by the big crocodiles dozing in the sun or swimming in the pond. The baby crocodiles were cute but their sharp teeth better not to mess with them... :-0. It was the first time that we saw Lemurs and ate crocodile meat!!! We also visited the different museums - inserts, fossils and dodo. What the children loved most were the giant tortoise that they were able to feed and climb on them to take photos. After visiting the funny monkeys we spend some time in the farm and playground. The park is a must especially if you have children!!!

Gris Gris is an interesting natural sight when the waves crash against the shoreline with ferocious intensity. You can stand above the rugged cliffs and might even feel spray from below. The winds are often so high that any nearby trees grow with a bent angle. Access is free but I would only recommend a visit if you are nearby in the South. There are a couple of local restaurants in the area, which are perfect for lunch. As beautiful as it was, it's not a trip to be made specially or to go out of your way, unless you are already in the South.

We visited Bois Cheri for the tea tour and tasting. The tour was very informative but the tasting was definitely the highlight. They let you loose with some dunking biscuits, at least 10 different tea varieties and as much hot water as you need, all in a beautiful setting overlooking a lake. Highly recommended and you're not rushed at all.
