Skyline Hawaii - Haleakala

Built in 2002, Skyline’s Haleakalā 5-line Haleakalā zipline tour was the first commercial zipline in the country, and, according to Fodor’s Travel, was the Most Amazing Zipline in the World in 2016. Guests zip over 90-foot drops, reach speeds of over 45 mph on Hawaii’s only pendulum line, and experience an Indiana-Jones style swinging bridge between lines. If you’re looking for a more serene option, our Haleakalā Classic Sunrise Tour offers edge-of-the-world views in all directions near the peak of Hawaii’s most storied volcano at the break of day in Haleakalā National Park, the #1 visitor attraction on Maui. See the best of Maui from the sky with our expert—and hilarious!—guides, trained for 80 hours (twice the industry standard) on safety, the island’s rich culture and history, and its delicate ecosystem. Other tour options include a Haleakalā Sunrise & Zip; a Sunrise, Downhill Bike & Zip, and a Waterfall, Hike & Zip Tour.

Chez Klio -Maui Cooking Class

Reviewed By JudyG1227

This was the second all-day class (9-3:30 ish) we have taken and the instruction and facilities, combined with Chef Yasko's expertise were outstanding.. We were welcomed with an apple pastry and coffee or tea while we reviewed the menu. Our class made Oven roasted Kule Pork Salad,Yunnanish tofu,Lilikoi pork ribs, and steamed buns. Each of had our own complete station with all the necessary specialty ingredients and utensils. The Chef's prep for this was amazing and while we sometime each had 7-10 ingredients, the work areas were beautifully organized and never became cluttered or messy. It's difficult to explain just how beautifully this class was organized. Every utensil was immaculate, every knife sharp, every ingredient fresh. There were five of us in this group along with Chef and a helper. We've taken classes all over the world and Chez Klio is certainly among the best.

Haleakala National Park

Reviewed By robertdX4400QY - Oahu, United States

Towering over the island of Maui and visible from just about any point, Haleakala Crater is a force of nature in every sense. At 10,023 feet above sea level, this dormant volcano is the stage for a breathtaking range of landscapes—and skyscapes. Haleakala means "house of the sun" in Hawaiian, and legend goes that the demigod Maui lassoed the sun from its journey across the sky as he stood on the volcano’s summit, slowing its descent to make the day last longer. Many visitors wake up early to drive to the Haleakala Visitor Center, the best spot to watch what may be the most spectacular sunrise on earth. As the sun peeks over the horizon, an ever-changing swirl of color and light dance across the vast sea of clouds—a sight described by Mark Twain as “the most sublime spectacle I have ever witnessed.” Perhaps just as impressive are Haleakala’s sunsets and the bright, starry skies revealed at night. Remember, the National Park Service now requires a reservation for personal and rental vehicles to view the sunrise from the summit district. Your reservation is for parking at the summit and doesn’t include the required national Park entry fee. Drive times from Kaanapali and Wailea to reach the summit average 2 hours. Sunrises and sunsets are only two of the many reasons to pay Haleakala National Park a visit on your trip to Maui. Spanning more than 30,000 acres of public land, the stunning landscapes range from Mars-like red deserts and rock gardens near the summit to lush waterfalls and streams in the park’s coastal Kipahulu section, near Hana. There are numerous hiking trails that offer solitude and scenic vistas, while guided hikes and horseback rides provide an expert's insight in addition to the natural beauty. There are more endangered species here than any other park in the National Park Service, like blooming ahinahina (silversword) and nene (Hawaiian goose), the state bird. Visitors can also camp here, with separate campgrounds and cabins available.

Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm

Reviewed By lrandy6 - Keizer, United States

Even though our group was on “the older side” (an 85 year old mother and her 3 daughters) and who had mobility problems, we throughly enjoyed our visit to the lavender farm. We were able to explore the garden area that was closest to the gift shop without a problem and it was absolutely beautiful. The drive to the farm, the view from the gift shop, the variety of plants and flowers, the yummy scones and lemonade....we loved everything!
