This Chiang Saen riverside restaurant is the perfect place to have a cold drink and a delicious Thai meal at the end of a day. I love the Mekong vibe and the low, candlelit tables - brimming with foreigners and locals alike. Aom and Ying are wonderful cooks and turn out top dishes from their portable kitchen - I had the best fried mushrooms ever; and they can cater creatively to vegetarians too. Ying has years of experience from the Four Seasons, and everyone working here is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Went today with the family, when we arrrived we were the only guests. I was joking, when saying we should not go into a restaurant if no other people in.It quickly turns out that my joke was bitter reality. A bottle of beer was 2-3 times the price than other restaurants charge. My family says the food was good, I can't tell, the Tom Yum I ordered didn't arrive, speaks a lot for the quality of staff. I live very near, but I'm pretty sure they'll not see me again.

Although prices have increased since last year on the "English Tranlation" Menu still very reasonable prices for quality food. Hygenic restaurant with very clean toilets.At lunchtime-signature dish is kao soy noodles with kai (chicken)All day favorites chicken and cashew (kai medmuan)Spicy beef with coriander and chilli krapow well presented with a fried egg on top or spicy pad thai.Good choice of refrigerated drinks.

Many visits, their fish dishes, have had about 6 or7, are the best in town,photo is Plaa duk phu ,catfish,angel-hair shredded and quick deep fried topped by som tum,papaya salad ,with cashews;Branching out off the fish, their other dishesAre all above average but don't approach the level of the fish;Try the larb plaa, best dish of any sort in town, don't recall it on the menu but he will make it

I guess the listing needs to be updated. The place is between Chiang Rai and Mae Chan, west of HWY 1. You won't find it in the Golden Triangle. As I live up here I was wondering if I missed something :-)

This restaurant offers both Western an Thai cuisine but the latter is a completely tasteless version of the real thing, probably specially prepared to be palatable by tourists. Quite an insult to the Thai cooking. On top of that they were out of their âsignature dishâ! Go in any small restaurant down the street and youâll have much better, only without the starched napkin!

We stopped here as there was a lot of mini buses with tourists. Food was good and reasonable priced. Wife said the toilets were very clean. Stop and take in the sights. Directly opposite where we are sitting is Myanmar with Laos on the distance on the other side of the Mekong River.

We had the buffet lunch here last Sunday, very busy with coach party tours using it. The selection and quality were very good with dishes being constantly refilled the choice was excellent and a very pleasant lady cook/chef there to ask more about the ingredients very nice touch waiters were also excellent and very approachable. i found here from tripadviser and i had lunch here with my friends at sala mae nam restaurant.
