We ate this place 3 times while in Kaohsiung. From 3 different relatives, they want us to at be at best vegetarian restaurant in Kaohsiung. A little overpriced for Kaohsiung. Nice decor and atmosphere. Food is okay, location is right at love river, amazing view at night or day. Service was slow when u have a large group. We got tired of the food on the 3rd time.

One of well known franchise which has been to the market for more than a decade. Comprehensive main courses for your selection with 3 kinds of side dishes and rice on the side. Free drink and soup are both available by the counter. Cost-effective expenditure for all ages. Highly recommend to have a taste of house special deep fried pork chop or grilled chicken, another than that probably black pepper beef. If i feel lazy sometimes, i just swing by and take to go, its quite convenience for whoever doesn't have the patient to wait for the food. Pay a visit, and you will have a taste of Taiwan. Bon Appetit

LOCAL BANQUETThe English name seems incongruous with the Chinese name, which is simply âBIG EIGHTâ. The number eight in Chinese culture is very lucky and auspicious for good fortune and prosperity. The name is extremely attractive for faithful patronage of local customers. I recall this popular restaurant ever since I first moved here over 20 years ago.FOODWith multiple stores in the Kaohsiung city, this brand has been synonymous with Japanese style food. Over time, with the addition of other Asian influences and flavors, the brand has maintained a delightful dining standard and the Cantonese style cuisine is also now a specialty feature of their dining experience.ENVIRONMENTThere are several floors with multiple dining halls and chambers. Have been to several corporate business banquets here and happy with the standard of service, food and ambience. This branch is near MRT HanShin Arena.

Yonghe Steamed Dumpling was a simple steamed dumpling stand with just four plastic tables for a dining area. Even though I canât read Chinese, ordering was simple as xiaolongbao is the only thing served and you simply indicate how many baskets (of nine each) you want. They also had two soups (pig blood and hot & sour). I was too scared to try the pig blood but the hot & sour was excellent. The dumplings might not have been Din Tai Fung quality but definitely well above average especially for the inexpensive price.

Reserved at seats near window, spacious and suitable for chats. Have white soup with "ice cream" ball. The tofu and duck blood can refill. Order for beef, lamb, seafood dish and big vegetables. All are fresh and in raw taste. The free icy drinks is fresh and ends for a enjoyable dinner.

Went to try the duck at this place at the recommendation of others. Personally, I feel that the duck served in this place is good but what was impressive was the minced pork rice. Comes in 2 sizes of TWD25 and TWD35. The rice with the sauce was permeating with fragrance from the time it was served till it went into one's mouth

I may be very different from everyone else who raves about Ding Tai Fung, but think its very overated and overpriced.. The is a rage in juicy buns now but they charge 3 times every place else. Have had juicy buns in over 10+++ places and when they are piping hot, afd ginger and vinegar and really there is much of a difference. Its good but just not worth the lines and prices....

Both the soup beef noodle (çè汤é¢) and the dry beef noodle (çèæé¢) are very impressive, costing TWD110 per bowl. As they taste quite different, you should give both a try if you can. The beef are extremely tender and easy even for kids to eat. Be prepared to wait awhile for food to be served during peak hours. Enjoy.

Very interesting concept... cafe set up and non-retail oriented.Cosy layout with good service. Free cup of tea and pineapple tart (complete packaging and not morsels of bits and pieces). Not obligated to purchase and no time limit to how long you wish to dwell. But many will leave with boxes, each packed in a separate cloth bag. Very thoughtful! Good for Branding and Image building, complete with Superior Taste!
