The southwestern castle city of Cesky Krumlov is one of the Czech Republic’s finest medieval sites. Its Old Town is a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site, a maze of twisting alleys built around the extensive Cesky Krumlov castle. Saunter through crooked, cobblestone streets on foot and soak up the atmosphere of this impeccably preserved medieval gem. The gushing Vltava, popular with rafting enthusiasts, darts through the town.

The exhibition itself is very well designed with correct amount of information splited across the house rooms. A suggestion: in the first two rooms maybe subnumbers can be assigned to the objects so the photography lames can understand the tools mentioned in the audio guide.

Moldavites are the only precious stones in the world created in a meteorite impact 15 million years ago. The meteorite fell into today's Germany, but the moldavites are to found in South Bohemian region only. The exhibition of the museum tells you the whole story of meteorites, their role in planet formation, influence they had on the evolution of life and the hazard they represent to human kind today. The exposition is build as futuristic and interactive environment, funny and educative at the same time - it is more a "thing to do", than a "thing to see"... The exhibition is made completely trilingual, incl. the movie (Czech, English, German). All texts are provided in 5 more languages. Open everyday from 10 to 18.
We stayed in the rooms above the museum, so got to visit for free. Fun and quirky! Found out something new. These stones are extra terrestrial, so cool! I ended up buying myself a ring, to commemorate our 40th wedding anniversary, as well as lovely pendants for our daughters. Worth the visit. Great interactive displays.

Museum is in the one of the oldest house in Cesky Krumlov with oldest fresco from the 14th century. Puppets are situated into fairy tales or into old stories. For example white lady from castle of Cesky Krumlov, medieval village, fairytale devils, fairies, princess ... In the museum is also a small theatre, where you can play.

Although I have visited Krumlov on several occasions, this was my first visit to the museum (December 2018). It gives a great overview of the history of the area from pre-historic times to the present. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable and there were also free posters! The charming receptionist even gave me a hand made paper snowflake that she had made. An absolutte must see.

It was absolutely one of my best adventures ever. Unusual, exciting, well organised, informative yet a bit creepy. It’s a must see venue/activity here, very well recommended for everyone and for this price it’s a bargain.
