The Monument to the Dead of World War II (locally called Monumento Nacional aos Mortos da Segunda Guerra Mundial) is mausoleum of 467 soldiers of Brazil army who died in action in Italy during World War II (1939-45 AD). They were buried in a cemetery at Tuscany, Italy. In 1960 their dead bodies were transferred from Italy to Brazil and buried here in this Monument in Rio de Janeiro, located in Santa Teresa area in front of Paris Park just close to Gloria Marina and Flamingo Park.
