Phoenicia Boutique Hotel, inaugurated in the summer of 2019, offers the best services and a great location which is situated near the beach. Although, our most important wish is to prove that romanian seaside is worth the return and deserves a place on the world tourism podium.

Reviewed By alexhL133EUThis hotel claims to have 5 stars, a casino and advertises the accommodation as "Adults only". None of this has anything to do with reality. During our 7-day stay, the casino, if you can call it that, was never in operation. At breakfast, children and teenagers were regularly present. But these are the least of the problems. The hotel advertises that it has 3 restaurants "on site". This is simply a lie. The nearest restaurant is 200m away as the crow flies, about a 5 minute walk, passing numerous garbage dumps in the bushes in front of the hotel and the barracks of some hotel employees. Inside the hotel there is only a sparse breakfast at which even on all days the butter was missing. The answer of the waitress was that there is butter only on request. In addition to one type of toast, there was another type of roll next to it. The paper cups next to the coffee machine make further explanations unnecessary. Room service does not exist, although it is obligatory for receiving 5 stars in Romania, just like a restaurant. The reception is manned for a maximum of 30% of the day, if you are lucky and ring the bell, a receptionist illuminated by a smartphone emerges from a dark corner in the non-functional casino and makes herself comfortable at the reception. The level of the entire staff is not even suitable for a mountain lodge, although they have no problem raising their voice to the guest. On the second day at 18:00 a heavy cabinet door with mirror came loose and crashed next to me on the wall, the problem was fixed only the next morning. A clogged toilet was fixed at 24h at night, because according to the receptionist she is not allowed to let the handyman into the room when the guest is not in the room - I wonder what laws the cleaning lady breaks every day when she cleans. After waiting half an hour for the handyman in the room, we went to the table where we had reserved. In the description of our room on Booking, there was supposed to be a fireplace, as well as a coffee maker and a microwave. None of this was in the two rooms we occupied. ...when asked, we were directed to the coffee maker in the lounge. As for the facilities/activities described, such as table tennis, tennis court, etc., one must know that none of these are in or near the hotel, but that the facilities of neighboring hotels of the same owner are located 200-300m away and about 10 walking distance. The hotel owner has in 200-300m distance still 3 hotels, which together offer these facilities. Apart from the fact that this is in my eyes a deliberate deception comes to the fact that the other hotels and thus the offered areas are by no means "Adults only". That is the scam behind it. The so-called private beach is not managed by the hotel, The majority of the people who are there are not staying in the hotel and reserve sunbeds and umbrellas there for cash. The hotel has an indoor pool, which is located in the breakfast room or in the casino (everything is an open space). When asked, we were told that the pool is here only for esthetic reasons. The atmosphere in the hotel with the always extremely dimmed light (I recommend taking a flashlight) inevitably reminds of a nightclub. The quality of the work done including the painting is pathetic, our balcony was still full of paint stains so the spider webs are not even noticeable. The door frame on our room door was broken out on one side. Caution: The photos they show at Booking for a double room do not match. They use photos from suites. FYI, the hotel is only 3 years old. According to the regulations for receiving stars that exist here in the country, this hotel does not even meet the standard of 3 stars. By the way, none of the complaints we reported elicited a response from the manager, who was present intermittently every day. They claim they have a garden and a terrace: the garden is missing, but from the room you have a view of garbage dumps and barracks in which employees live. The terrace is a joke, apart from the fact that no one spends time there, because from a nearby canal permanently unbearable odors perfume the terrace. Please check the photos of our towels we received, too. We left with a pleasure!

Reviewed By doinae2022We needed a place to stay for one night on our way to leaving Rpmania. The best decision we have made. The room was big and warm it has slippers and a fridge and free tea and coffee. The staff was very helpful and nice. We recommend it for holidays also.

Reviewed By 510liviumBrand new apartments, spacious and great positioning. High quality furniture and a lot of fun attractions nearby, posh position nearby the beach and a lot of famous clubs and restaurants in the northern part of Mamaia. Highly recommend it.

Reviewed By acidutzu952I spent a weekend with my family in Danube Delta and we spent 2 nights at Casa Nelu Pescaru (Nelu the Fisherman). I have to say that Danube Delta is wonderful but the people like Nelu the fisherman and his wife, miss Vali, make the place even more enjoyable. At their house everything is clean, in perfect order and you feel like at home. The food (mostly fish) is very tasty and you can never finish all you get. And, believe me, I eat a lot! Mr. Nelu took us on a 4 hour ride on the Delta, with his motorized boat, while his wife prepared the lunch. Nelu showed us some remote areas and Delta canals which, probably, you cannot see on a regular trip. Very nice people, very warm and friendly, they treat you like a family member. As they say "you come as a guest and live as a friend". I like to think that now we are their friends. I would like to!
