Before its Civil War glory days, Galena was a booming lead-mining town. Today, you can descend underground into the Vinegar Hill Lead Mine. My husband and I traveled to Galena for a long weekend. Gerald was flexible in scheduling a couples massage with us and worked with Craig Krebs (Thunder Bay Oasis) to get us taken care of. We both enjoyed our massages and had a very relaxing experience! We will definitely call them the next time we visit Galena.

We were late in planning our spa experience, calling the day before to get a couple's massage, but they were so accommodating, getting us in for a 30-minute treatment. The spa is within the hotel and perfect if you're spending the evening. Really liked that a hotel room had been converted to a massage room that was complete with a bathroom. The staff were super friendly. Definitely would return! They helped make our 25th Anniversary a wonderful day!!

Theresa came highly recommended to me by my massage therapist in Chicago. I admit I was intrigued by the idea of being massaged by someone's feet rather than hands, although I did find out it's a mix - not 100% done with her feet. Theresa was wonderfully welcoming and patient and took the time to explain the process and to go over any special needs I might have. I allowed myself to just go with the process and was greatly rewarded. She did not rush to bring the massage in at exactly 60 minutes but rather took the time to do it well. There were so many special things that took this to a higher level - aromatherapy, special heated neck roll, facial massage - the works. I felt a little guilty because she seemed to be working so hard to make everything just right. My only complaint is that Galena is too far away to repeat this experience on a more regular basis. Definitely take the time to treat yourself as part of your Galena trip or if you're lucky enough to live here.
