Probably, one of the best places in Galicia to have octopus Galician style ("pulpo a la gallega").The place has no charm, the service is correct and the rest of the menu has nothing remarkable. But the octopus is worthwhile the visit to this village.

Spot right on the main road in Fonsagrada this is a modern looking very pleasantly and tastefully decorated café and restaurant.The restaurant is behind the bar hidden from the street but offering a wealth of windows giving out to the other side of the building.Great atmosphere with an exquisite service. The food is âlocalâ tasting great but presented in a slightly more sophisticated way. Just loved it.

A Fonsagrada really has an atmosphere of its own, and this pulperia adds to that. Superb traditional pulpo and potatoes, and the price makes it one of the best bargains on the Camino. Defintely a place to return to.

Transiting on the scenic side roads between Gijon and Santiago we came across this restaurant (or rather tavern) more by accident than intent.What a find !!!!The restaurant is located on the upper floor of this largely timber constructed tavern. The age of the property is well over 100 years.The restaurant and bar are ran by the family and nearly every dish is freshly prepared. All that I can suggest is to be adventurous with your selection of dishes as all are appealing.

Travelling in the area on business, this lovely rustic retreat is a reminder that unlike the British, the Spanish understand and respect the right to take take out for lunch and a break from the day.The other stark reminder is that unlike many British workers the Spanish can afford to stop for lunch !Most importantly they respect the fact that good simple food, served with pride and passion is easy to provide and will continue to survive as it is affordable.If I ever visit this area again I will certainly call in for something to eat and I would recommend this place to everyone.
